This will deffo get all the man children out of their parents houses for the night , all dressed up in their cartoon PJ’s , singing along with the avengers songs, lovely stuff.

U was going to respond to this with a blistering fact-filled put-down about the cultural success of superhero films rendering your lazy stereotyping meaningless and irrelevant, but then I realised that you must surely be an agent of Thanos out to sow discord and confusion as part of his plan to obtain the Cosmic Cube and the Galactic Triangle and reunite the Gems of Awesome Power in the Glove Of Destiny! YOU’RE FOOLING NOBODY JOAN BURTON, LACKEY OF EVIL!

Having ‘America’ and ‘Civil War’ in the title is very sly and cruel to us historic documentary / period drama fans. I feel so cheated.

Watch “the Civil War” series by Kenneth Burns – 12 eps of amazing documentary, with morgan freeman voice overs to boot!

Actually I am mistaken – I thought the Vietnam series you referred to was the 3-part one on Discovery. Will check out the Ken Burns one, thanks.

    Captain America: Civil Bored, amirite?!

Maybe. Probably will be good. In fairness, the Cap movies and Ant-Man were the only Marvel films I’ve really enjoyed so far.

These Marvel films are fantastic preparatory experiences for what dementia will eventually feel like. Suddenly, people I think I know are doing bizarre things for no logical reason and it turns out they were actually someone else all along. That, and the mind-bendingly long run times means I usually soil myself before the end of the film.

    1. Augustus Gloop

Spot on. Another similarity with dementia is the likelihood of dropping off to sleep long before the film has ended.
