what makes you think Dublin doesn’t have the one and two finger salute? slight variations, but common alright.

Was that to indicate that he was number 1 or that he had, as he had predicted, won in the 1st round?

What’s the hand signal to the Gards when they want to pull you over for taking photos of your hand while driving?

Don’t forget the thumb pressed to the windshield when they resurface the road and a car passes you in the opposite direction. A magic deterrent against loose chippings breaking the glass….. so they say.

This is totes BS. There is no specific etiquette. And it happens all over the world. It’s so Irish to think that it only happens in Ireland.

A clever radio station will eventually run a competition to find a replacement for that olé stuff. It is well passed its sell by date.

I’m not sure about that now. I’ve lived in four countries and driven in more, and have only seen the 1 and 2 finger salute in Conamara. A hand wave occasionally in Midwestern America, but mostly no acknowledgement from other drivers at all.

      Dictionary.com:

“a cultural item in the form of an image, video, phrase, etc., that is spread via the Internet and often altered in a creative or humorous way.”

My first meme, so don’t give me a hard time!

No wonder country people get into so many collisions. Sure aren’t they all too busy looking to see who’s in the car coming opposite.
