I know you don’t normally do this but today I’m looking for some help. Does anyone out there know a way to track down an iPhone? I’ve lost a million phones and replaced them but this one is important because it holds a number of really special conversations on voice record I’ve had with my granny about her childhood and our family history. I’m distraught. I lost it in the Workman’s [Club, Wellington Quay, Dublin 2] at the end of the night on Friday after getting my jacket in the cloakroom. I don’t know how to get it back. Anyone any advice if they’ve been in a similar situation? (It’s a rose gold and white 16g 5s with a black otter box cover).

Anyone?

Hopefully when you got your phone you done all the registrations with Apple so you should have an iCloud account. When you log into that (obviously from another phone or laptop etc) there is a “Find My iPhone” option there. Since I’m not an iPhone user though, I’m sure another good BS’er who has one will correct any of the above.

    1) find my phone. http://icloud.com – log in. Check for last found location. Share these details with the gardai. Please. They love when they find the scumbags that steal phones.
    2) check if you have an icloud backup. Please please, if you have an iphone, enable icloud backup. Please Please Please. Let the thieving bastards steal your phone but not the data on it.
    2) if you don’t have an icloud backup, your SOL.

You might have a Find My Phone app via the iCloud – it came with a recent update. I think you log into the cloud with your email and Apple user ID.

‘I’ve lost a million phones and replaced them’……………maybe learn from past mishaps ?
Maybe look at your alcohol intake / behaviours when you’re drinking ?

the voice memo’s should be backed up with your daily icloud back ups.

log into icloud from a pc/ipad and either use the icloud web page or find my iphone app and it should see the last location. did you have a passcode/touch id set up on it?

If you’ve set it up as standard and you’ve got your appleID, everything should be up in the cloud as users have said here, you can possibly track it’s last location, even ping it with a message, though I wouldn’t advise that although the person that has it may or may not have good intentions, but you’ll definitely see the last place it was or currently is.

There’s no such thing as a rose gold iPhone 5S, I’m pretty sure rose gold is only on the new 6S models.

Check iCloud. Your data will be on there hopefully. Or if you were plugging it into itunes frequently, it may have been auto backed up? Not sure. I had my iPhone knicked in the workmans before too. Arseholes. Hope you get the chats with your nan back. Merry Christmas.

Take better care of your belongings and stop annoying others with your nonsense.

She sounds like a totally flakey and disorganised person who probably thinks she’s cool.

I’m so glad I’m not the type of person who needs to swoop in with a negative comment rather than just ignore a post like this when you can’t offer any help. Some people just love to gloat in the face of other people’s mistakes and misfortunes.
