Roy hodgson, a crap coach, backing an untested Neville to replace van gaal, a coach with an excellent career record… I reckon the sun are just licking their lips at the prospect of ripping Neville to shreds in a couple of months should they get their way on van gaal.

Barely any interest in soccer anymore, but the amount of influence the press has on sport is ridiculous and should constantly be challenged.

” Barely any interest in soccer anymore ” ?

Ah the ever brazen Queen. Continuing to grease 52 million stg from the British exchequer per year still now in 2016 where most ‘royals’ in the world have been pitch forked or quietly tucked away out of public life. 52 million big ones, a serious Christmas stocking. No wonder she can smile. At least that’s something we DON’T have to deal with, who said Ireland wasn’t ‘Great’. Merry Christmas every body!

Everyone I hear this argument it sounds more ridiculous. So what the idea is that you pay a family to live like royalty in 2015, i.e. do nothing only exist and wave every now and then, all paid for by the tax payer? Even if it was somehow proven that they do in fact bring in more money than they cost, it is entirely reprehensible to me that an entire population are quite happy to accept that a particular bloodline is superior.

In an equal and fair society this would not be tolerated.

The Royal Family is as popular now as it has ever been and judging by the great reception Her Majesty was given by the good people of Cork on her visit to these isles I vouchsafe she has many followers South of her border as well.
Deep down the Irish people would still prefer to be clasped to the welcoming bosom of Britannia and they’d definitely like to be living in the fourth biggest economy in the world – judging by how many Irish people go their to work and are quite happy to spend the rest of their lives there.
Only the most rabid barstool Republican would think otherwise.

I reckon that we as a nation might have a chip in our shoulders as far as they’re concerned. If the British are happy with them, leave them to it.

Cheers Bertie. Happy Christmas to you too. I love Her Majesty Queen Helen Mirren too. You’re not alone.

            …the most rabid barstool Republican…
(Thank you for the capital ‘R’.)

I deduce that you are in your early 50’s and you live in Cork.
            -Ammipsychic?
            -Ammirite?

An Englishman wouldn’t name himself after a fish.
A stupid fish, because ALL fish are stupid.

            He’s from Cork.

      Pure beauty.
      I love it.

      Dublin Rules, Okay?*

*You know what I mean. Not in a Political sense.
-Actually, now that I’ve broached upon the issue…
…if the rest of you would just stop sending gobshites up to us, then blaming US when they make a mess
      – that would be a start.

I mean Dublin is the best city in the World, and mostly because it’s full of Dubliners.
      That’s all.

      You’re welcome.

And before I go I’d like to give a shout out to the heads who financed the ‘Go Vegan’ campaign on the side of my bus since the beginning of November.
I used to think all pigs were ugly.
        I was wrong.

They taste better than anything else on Earth, they will dispose of dead bodies no questions asked, and now you’re making them sexually attractive…

        -What is your game?

The reports of the raid at that family’s house are rough

Wonder will Shane O’Curry, Gavan Titley and all those other Pavee Point-loving liberals condemn it?

    1. Bobby

I reckon a lot of the people you think are liberal would be horrified to think some people label them as such. Others around you may have developed a more complex and intricate political philosophy, so who are the liberals? ‘Liberals’ I’ve spoken to are pretty harsh when it comes to travelers for example. Do you mean proper ideological liberals, who would be at absolute odds with left wing activists, such as Shane there. Or was that comments aimed at economic liberals like Leo Varadkar. I know, I know, since you’re talking about criminals coming from a Traveler background, you must have meant socially liberal people. Still, the reality there is that there are a hell of a lot of typically socially liberal people who still think all, most, or a lot of Roma Gypsies and Travelers are going to rob everything you have, or at least say really dodgy things. There are others who have a much more radical critique and understanding of these issues though, they wouldn’t be called liberals though.

I’m a ardent supporters of minority rights, including Travelers. I grew up in Swords right beside a Traveler’s site. I know all too well problems stem from the Traveler community, there were plenty of problems in my estate too, bloody poor people.. All the same, most people were sound and got on grand.

So here you go, since I would consider myself to show support and solidarity to the Traveler community, and have actively doing some form of activism, I’m condemn the robbery. I am an active solidarity activist for refugees, I condemn the eventuality of a refugee committing a crime. I’m a Palestinian solidarity activist, I condemn when a Palestinian kills an innocent. I am working class, I condemn the violence of all working class people. I’m a man, I condemn the crimes of men, I condemn the crimes of the Irish, I condemn the crimes of Europeans, I condemn the violence of left wing activists, every time someone does something I am to be held responsible in terms of others expectations for my condemnation. But do you ever celebrate the good work they’re done, do you even have any idea when Pavee Point does month to month?

Horrible people do horrible things, it’s not their genetics, gender, nationality, income, it’s an explosive mix of intoxicating experience that make people do awful things. Even the aggressor ends up with mental issues because it doesn’t feel good to do these things to people. Good people are trying to challenge society and change the way we work, interact, communicate, live etc, from education, social interaction, alternative economics, housing etc, and a lot of the time it’s the same people doing a lot of really important and great work. What do you actually do to change anything? Or are you happy enough living in and moaning about the status quo, because you can see for yourself from paper’s headlines that there are a lot of things that are tragically not working, at all! Do you understand the socio-economic issues that eventually lead to the development a certain attitudes and the formation of a certain type of personality? Or are you happy enough to leave it the way it is and makes snide remarks about people who are actually getting up off their arse to do it. God is not going to send a man to fix problems, a radioactive spider is not going to bite a man who will save us all, pikachu will not pick some kid to be the best, Superman is not real, video game heroes are not real. Heroes are a myth. Great change comes through hard work and absolute dedication by ordinary people.

Pfft, me and my nonsense rambling. Sometimes I wish I was a realist, they seem to have an easy and simplistic understanding of the world.. you know, an understanding without details and such.

      Happy holidays!

  4. Peter Dempsey

Fair play on the condemnations Bobby. I rarely see it. Of course, you’ll have “conservatives” or “young Fine Gael” types going apepoo when violent crimes are committed by minorities (be they working class, immigrants or travellers) but the left wing activists usually stay silent.

What do you actually do to change anything?
    – Union activism.
    – Volunteer with Saint Vincent de Paul *
    – Teach adult literacy classes.
    – Went on a couple of Lourdes pilgrimages as a helper some years back but not really religious anymore.*

    * Those two activities provided me with definitive proof that pro-life people care for the born, given that both groups are full of people with such viewpoints.

    1. Bobby

And on access to abortion, you can be a nice person and still oppose a woman’s access to healthcare. That’s patriarchy and conservationism. On that note, I think anti-abortion is a more fitting self-describing name than pro-life, which insinuates that people like me and most of the population are anti-life or pro-death.

  5. Bobby

I was being sarcastic, left wing people don’t need to come out condemning things that are out of their control. You didn’t get my point.

    1. Peter Dempsey

That would be fine if left wing people stayed silent and never condemned anything ever. But we both know that they don’t. They’re just selective and will condemn anything that re-affirms their world view.
