1916 on RTÉ One at 9.35pm.

Gareth Naughton writes:

“Narrated by Liam Neeson, 1916 places the Irish Rising in its European and global contexts as anti-colonialism found its voice in the wake of the First World War. It explores the crucial role of the United States and of Irish America in both the lead up to and the aftermath of the events.”

it has to be better than “rebellion” which they blew €6 million on, to put it into context “The Wind that shakes the Barley” cost €6million

Ouch. That’s a painful comparison for RTE. But true. Rebellion could have been very good, but was tepid at best. Especially when compared with the Wind that Shakes the Barley.

Scroll down and you see the the different episodes. Some are just clips of a half minute, some are the full episodes. Is there any rhyme or reason to that?
