Says it all really..
AK looks demented
excellent photobomb by young girl
Delighted for Mulherin.. An utter freak of a person.
I’m delighted for Mary Hanafin as well. This election has been such fun.
Mary Hanafin doesn’t even live in the Dun Laoghaire constituency – the address on the ballot was her election agent’s. I really thought my folks at home weren’t FF heads… she tipped the poll
She didn’t get in, that’s all that counts!
Did she move back t’Thurles?
Hanifin not getting elected was the best result of the entire election.
Renu failing to get a single TD was better imo
Bye-bye Michelle Mulherin :)
….seems all that pagan dancing naked round fairy forts worked it’s magic!
….well, i thought it wouldn’t hurt to try it anyway.
did she pay that phone bill in the end?
Ummm, we’d prefer if you called them LGBT forts.
Some interesting celebrations today. Which got me thinking. Should TDs be drug tested regularly?
FFS
Kelly is going on like he’s just bate the shyte outta McGregor
hahaha!
+1
That’s the ‘power’ he says he knows how to handle…. wahaaaa!
It’s akin to a footballer unintentionally scoring a goal after a loose ball bounced off his face while he wasn’t looking, & then celebrating like it was all down to his talent & hard work.
I remember saying when Labour were seeking a replacement for Eamon Gilmore, that if they appointed Burton it would demonstrate that they were more out of touch than ever imagined. If Joan is replaced by Alan Kelly, it will show that they are continuing to drift in their own alternate universe.
Chuckle!!
Is there any legitimate reason you’ve held up on publishing my 2 posts on the ‘scaldy’ thread…
The right to reply shouldn’t be censored
Mucho gracias amigo
Muchas
Mucho gusto
Right of reply? That hardly exists when you are anonymous on the internet!
@Baz – Just as well I’m not a moderator here, I’d be constantly resisting the urge to reply: ‘Get a Life’.
Maybe it’s because you have a serious case of oral scour today…….just sayin’
That Kate O’Connell leg lift is a bit awkward
Haha it is actually.
That outfit.
I demand a recount.
She’ll be delighted. Bate Lucinda, now on the TD gravy train, and 25 million in the bank. Nice going. Hardly representative of the common folk, mind
Do you should only be elected if you earn the median wage?
No, of course not. All I’m saying is that when your family has that kind of money behind it, your interests tend to diverge from that of the average. It’s just an unavoidable consequence of wealth.
I do have a soft spot for her after researching a bit more – she seems to have a brain in her head. Hher takedown of the anti-fluoridation loons at council level was very satisfying, for example.
I have a soft – but not always – spot for Kate O’Connell which has little to do with her wealth or politics, if you know what I mean and I think everyone does.
‘your interests tend to diverge from that of the average. ‘
But that is the same as anybody who is not exactly the same as the average – and not just in terms of income.
I’m not sure there is proof that it is true. A number of champagne socialists have done much more for the ‘ordinary man’ than any number of FF populists from ‘modest’ backgrounds.

Ah dat ‘bold
Why is it necessary to keep referring to successful candidate’s partners in these photographs?
Anyone?
To be fair, their partners are in the photographs capturing the candidate’s celebrations on first hearing the news, embracing them in some cases.
A tradition from the old days – just so you’d know who the taxpayers will be paying to be the TD’s secretary (after a long and open recruitment policy of deciding whether the wife or the oldest child qualifies for the post).
‘Cause it is a fairly normal thing in Ireland (and elsewhere) to be nosy about the partners of those who surround us – public figures being no exception.
What do they look like? What do they do? Who rules the roost? etc.
Yup, this depends on a pretty traditional view of how relationships are constituted. A big part of the success of the SSM referendum was that it didn’t challenge middle Ireland’s view of relationships but rather expanded it slightly.
@Classter: your last line there is bang on the money, but much better articulated than I could ever manage.
Averie Power, not elected. Oh happy day!
Thought she sad fairly well liked
*was well liked
Competitive constituency.
FF + SF + SDs + AAA+ a few indos. Would be interesting…..on yer bikes lads.
We could be doing all this again in a few weeks. I think I already want to change my vote. :)
I think we should
The coverage of the last ten days in the National Broadcaster and the largest ( commercially controlled by person(s)connected to current Government) newspaper group needs to be investigated
I think the electorate were deliberately influenced by media
Miriam O’Callaghan, on the 1st day of the count, of a General Election, was a disgrace
I am ashamed
n’all I did was pay the telly licence
The rubbish being spun out on Dinnytalk was something else altogether. The sheer insolence of the presenters for example when conversing with anyone not from an establishment party was unreal. “Broadcasting regulators were asleep at the wheel “- that’s what they’ll be saying at some Moriarty inquiry in the future
We’ll always have Broadsheet :)
Until Dinny buys it and changes the editorial policy :)
Ann Phelan lorst…. Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
so that’s what Kelly looks like off his face on power. I thought power would be more of a cocaine kinda drug, but it seems it’s more a pcp sort of gig.
Agree. Voters elect candidates, not their lovers to represent them.
