Dartmouth Square near Ranelagh, Dublin 6

Anon writes:

“I witnessed a scene straight from Hot Fuzz this morning. Five Gardaí going door-to-door in Dartmouth Square, Dublin 6 investigating the cutting down of a protected tree in the park in recent weeks. They did seem highly embarrassed to be fair. It’s lucky we’re so blessed with an abundance of police resources!”

FIVE?

Anyone?

    Leaf it out, hopefully they’ll get to the root of the theft and twig who the culprit is.
    * gets coat
    What if the thief’s name is Forrest?
    * exits via window

    Not a bad day t’be out making house to house investigations
    Or hanging around the crime scene

    ‘Surprised there wasn’t more lads signed into the Incident Room

    It’s a protected tree species which is illegal to cut down. Therefore, it is a crime. Therefore, the state police investigates said crime on foot of a complaint. This is normal run of events.

    5 Gardaí??
    No doubt, a worthy and probably well-connected denizen and of Dortmoth Square wrote a stiff letter to the commissioner about this nightmare situation, I mean, the animals cut down a tree, barbaric, what is the world comming to??
    Meanwhile, many defective ferals roam freely throughout the rest of the country committing crime after crime…
