Poor aul Alan Kelly, he just can’t accept he’s lost. He’s like a jilted ex.
some old queen
Scary to think he might become the next leader of Labour, not that Howlin is much better but at least he isn’t such an ass.
Labour really has a crisis on their hands. If they don’t clear out the Fine Gael lite brigade and get the party back to its socialist roots, they are heading for the wilderness.

Alan K leading anything bar a kids marching band is a worry
More political correctness madness with having a pop at uk police chief for shouting “Allahu Akbar” at the start of a terrorist training exercise. ISIS are bombing Europe and critics of police will run like f### at the first sign of a bomb. Much ado about nothing. Ive no time for bombers that slaughter innocent people no matter what they roar.

Here, here Vanessa.
It makes me sick that Irish ‘police’ can’t just shout out Allahu Akbar and batter the F out of people I don’t like the look of. It’s political correctness gone mad Stu. It was better when it was all monkey-canyons and rope bridges. Rubber-dingy rapids are a different story, but at least one person will get that joke.
-It’s a bit silly to be worrying about bombs. Think about it….there’s about 7 billion of us and there’s less than a million bombs.
Do the math’s, and stop calling the Gardaí the ‘police’ if you’d like to be taken seriously.
-And stop scare-mongering. That’s what the ‘government’ do.

How do these people all get their foreign tax haven bank accounts?
Are they paid for work in another country they don’t live in into that account?
Just curious as to how it works and why everyone isn’t doing it if it does.

just asking for a friend are you? ;)
it’s usually done by services companies who act as agents for the ultimate beneficiaries
some jurisdictions are more lax about this than others especially the rules about opening bank accounts

you just apply like any other account. there’s nothing illegal about it as long as you still pay your taxes as a resident of whatever country you’re from. lot’s of celebrities would do it for privacy, e.g. most get paid into their production companies, if these companies were incorporated in Ireland or the uk you could search for a celebrities name, find the associated companies and order the accounts.

Thanks for the info.
So if you’re still paying the taxes what’s the benefit bar privacy? Is there some financial benefit?

the objective is to reduce your reported taxable income in your permanent country of residence
If you can reduce the overall tax bill then you are saving money.
Ireland has reciprocal tax agreements with many jurisdictions which are intended to avoid double taxation. If you report some income at a rate lower than your own native country would expect you to pay then you’re saving money.
For example with some examples of incomes like royalties etc – who can say at what point the sale occurred or in what jurisdiction? There is room for argument there by definition. Similarly with VAT on internet sales although these rules have been tightened up lately.
