Mr [Alan] Kelly was not present at Mr [Brendan] Howlin’s unveiling this afternoon.
“I am very disappointed Alan Kelly did not show up today,” Mr Howlin said. “I will be ringing him after this press conference.”
In an interview with News at One, the new leader said he had “no trouble” with Mr Kelly and he would be an “intrinsic part of the Labour Party”.

I’m no fan of Labour but I’m less a fan of absolutism. Labour represent their (reduced number of) voters.
Labour didn’t represent me or their other voters during their stint in government. They pretty much turned their backs on us.
Hence the reduced number of voters.

for me Labour have evolved into just another middle-right club, certainly I don’t believe they offer any alternative and I know a lot of people myself included who feel very burned by them
Joan tried to pass off opening up soup kitchens like it was a good thing, need I say more.
I struggle with those ‘photo ops’ and the logic of them. Acknowledge the disgraceful need for, and support them, yes. but it sure was not the place for calling out the photographers for a pic….

That is actually true and it is sad to see what happens when a party tries to do their best for the country.
Who are “the people”? The way people carry on its like there was a landslide win with majority rule by Labour in 2011.
Fact is, most people voted for majority conservative party that time.
This time, it was an absolute mish mash of a result, reflected in the weird govt make up we have now.
…I was really disappointed when Kelly got re-elected…today I feel a bit better.
I can’t stand Kelly at all, but this hardly seems like a democratic way to select a party leader. Seven people get to decide, what the hell has happened to the Labour party?
…seems fair…it was about seven members of the party who benefited from the lure of power and pensions while betraying party colleagues and followers…

If you mean the overthrow of capitalism and its replacement, a socialist state, then I would of thought it was obvious they have not espoused those views for quiet a while. Long before the last government.
