I kind of hoped the Turkish coup would work. Sadly, the people are about to have all rights removed, the military will be replaced with a pro government alternative and the EU will still bow to them for the privilege of keeping Russia at bay. Civilisation is once step closer to collapse.

Erdogan is using this failed coup to get rid of the last vestiges of secular Turkey

The sweeping purge of soldiers and officials in the wake of the failed coup in Turkey is likely to be conducted with extra vigour because a number of close associates of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are among the 265 dead. The number of people detained so far is at 6,000 including soldiers, and around 3,000 judges and legal officials who are unlikely to have been connected to the attempted military takeover.

It’s funny how some people look forward to their retirement while others cling onto their jobs in the most undignified fashion. Kenny and Adams are two that come to mind. Both are damaging their party’s chances but neither wants to retire. It seems like the more powerful the position, the harder it is to let go.

The Indo is such a badly designed newspaper. It looks like a freesheet you pick up in a shopping centre

Erdogan is the west’s friend I am glad he is safe I’m also happy to see no reports about the soldiers who surrendered being executed by mobs those photo’s and videos are fakes as are those of roving bands of islamists beating people for drinking and playing music, turkey is fine we need to move on now.
