Point 8 should be removed from this infographic. It takes away from the rest of the debate. Otherwise it’s a decent overview of what could happen to legalise a banned product.

    Can’t see it happening.
Sure you can’t even buy a pack o Solpos with an interrogation.
Where as in the UK they contain 2-3 times the Codeine and no interrogation.

    Ireland will never legalize drugs.

    Never.

    Ever.

We can’t even talk about abortions.

The Joe Duffy blue rinse brigade seemed to be warming to the idea of weed legalisation. I reckon we’re closer than you think.

        That’s the true measure.

Before it was “My Anto smoked a joint once, Joe, and then I found him dead with a needle in his arm, Joe. Them drugs are awful.”

Marijuana is less harmful than alcohol and only idiots and the ill-informed believe the gateway drug myth pedalled by the Nixon and Reagan administrations about marijuana.

Once California legalises Marijuana next November, the whole west coast of America will have legalised weed. That’s the tipping point which will bring about the end of marijuana prohibition in America. My own country, Canada is the largest producer of medical grade marijuana with Tilray leading the charge. In 2017 Canada will pass legislation to legalise weed for recreational use. To put it simply, it’s not a question of if marijuana is going to be legalised, it’s a question of when. Colorado generated almost $1 Billion USD in marijuana sales last year which contributed $235 million in additional revenue for school building projects. Colorado has roughly the same population as Ireland, and the revenue is not coming from drug tourism. With figures like those, other states are moving ahead with legalisation. Irish conservatives can continue with playing Paddy Ignorant when it comes to Marijuana, they can continue to ignore the scientific evidence coming from The Lancet and other well documented sources. It was the United States which pushed Marijuana prohibition in the first place, and it is the American states serving as ‘laborotories of democracy’ which is bringing prohibition. It’s time to get with the project, marijuana legalisation will form part of future trade agreements between the EU and North America, commercial interests will see to that

Have a visit to the state sponsored growing house located in a vacated
Hersey Factory at Smiths Falls, Ontario, imagine if the Palm House in the
Botanic Gardens was fully utilised to cultivate and indeed to prefect the
cultivation of the sacred plant species, just think of all the jobs it would
create for Teagsc just beside it, even its addition on Agricultural Science Course’s. We could export our knowhow all over the place….the end result will be mind blowing, even the CSO will will be overwhelmed with the additional figures they will have to count up.

far too stuffy a government to ever consider it. if it becomes legalised in more european countries then there is a small hope.

  5. Yep

Certainly going in the right direction but can’t see me getting a prescription for anything other reversing the effects of death.
