Senator Catherine Noone arriving at the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge, Co Kildare, for the annual Fine Gael Think-In on Monday

At first just Michelle, but then soon
She was echoed by Senator Noone
Each would make her mark
In the stands at Croke Park
While humming an entitled tune.

So did I – what good did it do? The status quo is all that matters in this country. Talk about reform was absolutely spurious, and everybody knew it.

  1. Fact Checker

The Indo writes: “Dublin senator Catherine Noone has accused the GAA of adopting an “unfair practice” by issuing tickets directly to TDs but not to senators.”

She is not a “Dublin senator”, simply a “senator”. I have no idea where she lives or hails from but she was elected as a member of the Seanad Industrial and Commercial Panel.

YOU might see it as that. Heck, THEY might see it as that, but the point is that if she was appointed as a member of a particular panel, the fact is that they’re not *meant* to be representative of a particular constituency. If they were, that would be a prima facie instance of certain geographical areas having more representation than others.

The GAA is dead right in this instance.

Good to see public representative with their eyes firmly on the sliotar.
    On the sliotar.
    See what I did there?
    Friday magic.
    You’re all welcome.

  3. Truth in the News

The GAA reserve tickets for certain individuals, who is in this catergory and how
many hospitality one’s are given out, the GAA final and the hype associated with it
fanned up by sections of media resembles a sort of quasi royal avent much associated with the asendancy….the Vice Regal Garden Party…..maybe there should be a Royal Enclosure in Croke Park….the Irish Version of Ascot.
