Not sure about the witch/tramp part, but it’s understandable that people would consider her claims about climate change to be scaremongering, given the still limited (albeit increasing) media coverage of climate change in this country. Unfortunately, as drastic as voluntarily reducing meat consumption (particularly beef) sounds, the claims about climate change are not scaremongering.

Her ‘eat less meat, or no meat at all’ suggestion will no doubt go down like a lead balloon with an awful lot of people (myself included, I love my beef.) But given what’s pretty much guaranteed to be coming down the road (such as huge displacement of middle east populations and huge damage to the agri sector) I suspect in the near future a lot of the same people will be wishing that more people had taken her advice, or governments had taken some sort of effective action to reduce carbon emissions years ago.

What exactly are you talking about when you say damage to the agri industry? Also how are the refugees massively affecting things here in Ireland?

Judging from your other comments, I’m wondering if it’s worth the bother answering your questions. You seem to have made your mind up already.

I would be willing to answer your questions if you’re willing to them on board. What do you think?

Well we keep missing the frequent turn-offs to Sensible Planning For A Sustainable Future Town, which is a pity.

Yea I hear you alright what with all our trees, cows and rain, sustainability really is a big elephant in the corner of the abundant meadow isn’t it Nigel

There was a time when I thought the headlines of the Irish Daily Mail didn’t sound as bad as the English Daily Mail.

i see the government are using the papers to turn the public against strikers, saying that its us who’ll have to pay the pay rises.

    1. Increasing Displacement

      Is it not?

I agree with raising pay but 11%? No

Start at normal pay rises not backdate it 2-3 years.

Not a word about Trump and DOBBY on a front page anywhere not even a complaint from the usual malingerers here about non-coverage of DOB. What a world.

Indo has a little story on it buried around page 8.

RTE news coverage yesterday was excellent, DOBBO does DOBBY. They had some file footage of little people and grinning leprechauns like Conor Lenihan going round with Clinton like Darby O’Gill the eyes literally bulging out of his potato-shaped red head. It was good for the soul for a change to see us how we are.

And Newstalk haven’t uttered a word about it. It just didn’t happen as far as they are concerned. I haven’t listened to TodayFM but I bet my left testicle they didn’t cover it either.

Seems our ‘independent’ national radio stations are serving their own interests, of their owner, and not the publics as per the licence awarded them.

      1. Faecal Matters

I don’t bother with it now Clamps and I used to like the sports coverage, Moncrieff and a few other lads on it, even Brenda Power was good for a few laughs, a sort of Mrs Trumpfire, back in the day.

That RTE thing was priceless though I urge people to watch it, the editor putting it together must have been smoking the good stuff.
