Staying in tonight?

Laura Fitzgerald writes:

RTÉ’s Prime Time is to broadcast a report tonight featuring never before seen footage of insurance fraudsters staging road crashes in order to make bogus insurance claims for damages.

The footage filmed by gardai features two collisions. One involving a car and a van happens in the dead of night. After the collision, a car carrying two men arrives on the scene and the men get into the crashed car before emergency services are called to the scene.

The footage also shows the driver of the van that was rear ended by a car, instruct the man who crashed into him, to “move back and do it one more time”, the car then rams the van a second time….

Swerve.

Prime Time tonight at 9.35pm on RTÉ One .

Can we also have a report into how car insurance companies in Ireland are completely fleecing us with ridiculous premium hikes???

The RA had a good run at this malarky for many years….. they had a scam going on in a border county whereby they’d set up or stage crashes involving large expensive tractors, JCBs, articulated trucks, flat beds, etc.
How do I know… I was on the jury panel, about 15 or so years ago.

And did you declare your anti-Republican bias at the outset when juror selection was being made?

Oh I tried to get off me duty, was dating a journalist at the time. Judge told me to keep me mouth shut :)

Regarding the bias, the RA bit didn’t come into it until the end. All very intentional by the court to keep that from the jury… lots of ‘excuse the jury’ moments while the court discussed whatever they were keeping from us.
In fairness, I wasn’t so anti-Shinner back then, didn’t pay ’em much heed, most of my anti-Shinnerness (hah!) stems from that interview with Mary Lou and Pearse Doherty when they screamed until they were blue in the face that SF had nothing to do with releasing paedos and rapists on the public of another country via kangaroo courts…. the two of them were caught for their lying, the lies that broke the camels back for me. And it’s been that way since.

RTÉ in cahoots with the insurance industry? Well before we go to Conor Faughnan for a comment on that we’ll get the traffic report from the AA.

Conor Faughnan broadcasts from the AA studio, in their offices on Suffolk St. but RTE never mention it. Conflict of interest? Or just how its always been…

        1. Kieran NYC

He works for the AA – why wouldn’t he nip into their studio when being interviewed?

If he trekked out to RTE each time you’d be moaning about them paying his taxi fare too.

Oooh, shock horror – a small number of motor claims are bogus. Thank God RTE are bringing this heinous stuff to our attention (when the Insurance Companies are under fire). :-)
