Printing the final words of the crew is unnecessary, and deeply insensitive to the families, who are still grieving or awaiting news of their lost loved ones.

To have it splashed onto the front page like that is an ugly thing to do. You’d expect it of the sun/star.

Mildred, the CVR transcript is in the public domain. This is standard practice internationally.

For all their other failings, the IT crew don’t sensationalise the report unlike some of the red-top rags.

Perhaps I’m being overly sensitive, but a bit of thought towards the families of the crew wouldn’t go amiss. It’s one thing to print the report, and even the transcript, but I do think that having the last words of the crew printed on their front page is unnecessary. It screams sensationalism to me.

It’s hard enough for the families affected, with so much media attention focusing on the accident, and I think that maybe this is a bit much. They haven’t recovered all members of the crew, and there’s a chance they never will. That’s an awful prospect for any family, never mind with all of the details being in the public domain.

Yeah, agree. If I was friend, family, colleague, I’d find that pretty upsetting. It’s just unnecessary.

I don’t understand: d’Indo made it their headline, was d’Indo not posted when these comments were made?
(In fairness to Mickey’s one point this is quite normal reporting of a tragic air accident- at least the Irish Times kept it to the end of the report so you were forewarned if you didn’t want to read it).

The gay concentration camps in Chechnya make for very upsetting reading

    And getting minimal coverage

Agreed, on a side note; they’re actually built by the same crowd KBR who built the FEMA concentration camps for Obama and Killary..

        Who’d have thought eh..

They are locked in tightly with CRH the cement giant with strong Irish(ansbacher) ties, and also strong ties to the US state department, Duck Cheney served on its board iirc…
