Is this narrative about Kenny’s departure a purely media created idea?
Did he ever say that he would be retiring or relinquishing the leadership?

Enda said he wouldn’t lead the party into the next GE. The Dail isn’t supposed to run full term, so between the two statements, it was a case of, when is he going to leave. FF and FG are playing chess. If FF get too strong, then FG will lose out. If FG call time on Enda too early, they will also be afraid of loosing ground to FF. FF would be happy to call a GE with a leadership battle taking place within FG.
Enda is either committed or he isn’t, and he is doing sfa in the last year, just enjoying the ignorance.

Strange card for Gerry to play – he must be longest-serving party leader outside of North Korea.

I am currently watching ducks and seagulls fighting for the tourists affections in de Green.
The swans are preening and posing for selfies whilst the other birds fight for crumbs.
The birds are actually picky about what kind of bread to eat such is the variety being thrown at them.
    It’s some day out though.

The tourists have taken all the pictures. I’ve not met an actual Dubliner all day.
Currently in Trinity wondering how to climb the tower in the courtyard.
There’s a sign saying I can;t walk on the grass but nothing about climbing the trees.
Good enough for Oscar Wilde, good enough for me.

Well kind of. The Government are the pigeons who will invade your feetspace and make as much attempt to avoid you as you do to them and will survive on meagre flakings of bread.
They know the larger, faster birds will get the sweetmeal bread and gluten free bagels.
They just stroll around the centre of this crumbly feathery feast cooing at themselves about the great job they are doing being pigeons.
I see the greater existence of Ireland in microcosmososms.

          I took as Enda Kenny
whilst the other birds fight for crumbs.
          I took as taxpayers
