Garda Commissioner Nóirín O’Sullivan and other senior Garda staff at the Public Accounts Committee last month

This morning.

In the Irish Examiner.

Daniel McConnell reports:

In 2016, when allegations of a smear campaign against Sgt Maurice McCabe emerged, the spend by the force with the Communications Clinic, owned by Terry Prone, jumped from €10,400 to €92,995, according to figures obtained by the Irish Examiner.

Garda sources denied that the money primarily went on Ms O’Sullivan and senior officers, insisting it mainly went on training superintendents who deal with the media. However, senior officers who appear before Oireachtas committees do receive training in advance of hearings.

The amount paid by the force to the Communications Clinic and Carr Communications between 2014 and now is €137,626. Just €4,620 of the total amount went to Carr Communications, the figures reveal.

So far in 2017, €28,851 has been paid to the Communications Clinic.

In response to a parliamentary question from Ms Murphy, Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan said his officials spent €27,313 with the Communications Clinic between 2014 and 2016.”

Over a grand a week to teach Jobstown gardai to parrot a phrase that wasn’t even used there! Terry Crone raking in the taxpayer’s money.

This should be a corruption offence.

Public servants using the public’s money to be trained in how to evade answering the public’s questions and deny the public any accountability. And all under watchful eye of The Crone, who’ll still be invited to perch and pontificate by Pat Kenny etc. even though she’s up to her gills in taxpayers cash. Sick.

It is to the language their clients speak what money laundering is to ill-gotten games.

If you ever wonder how all politicians sound alike and manage to avoid answering any question while speaking a lot of words, the CC and the Crone are responsible. They’re a cancer on language, public discourse and accountability in public office.

so, they teach you how to hide your contempt of the law while also appearing that you respect the law while at the same time avoiding incriminating yourself for crimes you and the CC know you did? handy! And this service is free?

This is public money, being used while people are homeless, to teach a lot of entitled porkers to grunt in unison?? How much longer can we tolerate this?

So that’s where Noirín learned how to mangle the English language into a form that’s almost meaningless.

  5. Truth in the News

Its pity that Noirin does not stick to the quote often relieved on from her Press Office
“That it is an operational matter and that the Gardai have no comment to make” as
if they keep waffling on they will hang each other, as they have already displayed with
    theJobstown debacle
