They’ll have to build a bridge over cycle lane so pedestrians can navigate their way safely to the bus stop.

Good quality? That kerb looks pretty easily mountable and the bike lane is indistinguishable from the road. I look forward to the picture next week when some moron has parked right on top of the lane.

bike *lane*. it is part of the road.
And if one can’t distinguish between the two lanes for cars, the bus lane, and the two cycle lanes one should not be driving.

possibly a minor point, but a design like that should also not include the ad section on the bus stop. takes away visibility from a cyclist as to whether there’s someone behind it who could step out as the bike passes.

It’s a very lovely bypass but to be fair it’s about a mile from the kerb to the other edge of the far pedestrian lane, and then you’ve got extra space for some nice ornamental grass, there’s not a lot of places in and around Dublin that would have that kind of acreage for building things like bypasses.

Good to see, they should all be like that. Cyclists tend to ignore alleged “cycle paths” if they take them all over the place when there’s a direct way through, but don’t mind a little diversion when it’s done well like this. There’s one like it at the N11/Fosters Avenue. I wonder if there was an efficient way of trying to divert pedestrians faces out of their phones when crossing it though, perhaps some brightly painted “LOOK LEFT!!!” or something? Or some sort of minor fence to indicate there’s something to be wary of?
