Cillian Murphy is titchy. I saw him once, up on Thomas Street. It says he’s 5’9″ on Google but I’d say he’s around 5’6″.
    So now, so.

i read that as ‘itchy’ and was waiting for a popbitch style anecdote about him trying to scratch his bum on the sly…

Irish Rail doesn’t publish this – a publishing company does. They pay for it and sell ads, and give Irish Rail a set fee each issue. But hey, why let the facts get in the way of a good Millennial moan?

      1. Rob_G

Mmm – if Ursula is willing to publicly criticise on Twitter, I think the public are then in turn justified in critiquing her critique.

          1. AnAccountant

When it is intended as a slur, it is a slur. Also, you were completely wrong to equate critique of how a public body spends our money with belittling a critique as a “moan” and belittling the person with the critique as a “millenial”

          2. Rob_G

Well, it wasn’t me that did either of those things.

(and the public body didn’t actually spend any money)

          3. AnAccountant

You justified both of those things. “if Ursula is willing to publicly criticise on Twitter, I think the public are then in turn justified in critiquing her critique.” Ursula criticised Irish Rail for a business decision so, as far as you are concerned, it’s ok for people to call her a ‘moaning Millenial’.

          4. Rob_G

            Yes, it is.

Just as when I wrote something, you have every right to disagree with or criticise me.

            ‘Live by the sword,’, etc.

          5. AnAccountant

Ok, so you’re actually sticking with ‘It’s ok to personally belittle someone when they criticise a business for a money spending decision.’ Fair enough so.

          6. Rob_G

            Yes.

I would probably say it more like ‘if you publish your opinion online, people may hold your views up to inspection’, but way is fine too, I suppose.

          7. AnAccountant

Calling someone a ‘monaing milennial’ is ‘holding someone’s views up to inspection’. Grand. This really must be The Journal like that chap says above.

does Broadsheet give out a medal for who can be the most unjustifiably outraged

the site is becoming a parody of itself now

We built a fleet of paper boats from Irish Rail magazines and the property supplements and set sail across the Moany Channel to rescue CillIan Moaner and the Moaner Expeditionary Force from Moankirk where they were stranded and cut off after a losing a moaning battle against the invading Whiners. It was our Finest Moan.

  4. rotide

Considering JR’s background in publishing, he would be fully aware of how this works.

This is basically just trolling his readers, whipping up some outrage.

          1. rotide

The name is LITERALLY to the right of your comment.

As well as being mentioned at the start of every BOTT.

      1. Old Dublin Tales

Not even an Irish friend would have this site in his crosshairs as much as Rotide does. And yet he likes the namedropping. It’s all like a bad case of Stalky & Co.

        1. Rob_G

I’m not sure that BS commentators understand the concept of ‘name dropping’; acknowledging that the owner of a (kind of) news site has had fairly well-known career in publishing doesn’t really count.

It’s not like Rotide said that John Ryan went to his dinner party or anything…

          1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

FUPP! Work. Typical that I snark at your spelling then do the same myself.
            I’m going off to sulk.

          1. Chompsky

Rotide. Your information is many years out of date. And now you’ve gone and hurt my feelings.

            Mmf.
