The Long Hall, South Great George’s Street, Dublin 2 Dublin on Good Friday last year

It’s a good year for people who feel
That it’s finally time to repeal
An outdated ban
So start making your plan
For Good Friday drinking’s now real

We should keep the ban but ditch the jesus part.

24 hours of parties, preceded by a customary evening of panic buying. It could be like Ireland’s version of The Purge.

    1. Yep

I think we should go the other way and reenact the crucifixion down all main streets across the country. We already have burritos.

Nobody will force a pub to open so all the moaning pub owners can still choose to close on Good Friday if they believe it will make them better Catholics and don’t need the money from all the paying customers! Yeah… lets see how that works out for ya!!

No pub will close. It’s the Friday of a long weekend, country full of tourists. It’ll be like Paddy’s Day II.

        That sounds terrifying.

Think I’ll stick to the age-old plan of a MASSIVE session down in Handsy Dan’s gaff.

In a few of the pubs I worked in it was the only day they could buff the floor / generally do maintenance without losing business.

        Good point, well made.
I say that as it’s the point I made yesterday.
Great minds, fools seldom etc etc.
