Alex Murphy (left) and Chris Walley in The Young Offenders
On The Late Late Show…
Gareth Naughton writes”
Host Ryan Tubridy will be summoning ‘the power of love’ as The Late Late Show welcomes 200 single men and women to one of Irish television’s most talked about nights.
Ryan will also welcome the stars of the new comedy series The Young Offenders. Alex Murphy, Chris Walley, Hilary Rose and PJ Gallagher will be on the couch to chat about taking their widely acclaimed hit movie to the small screen with a brand new six-part series on RTÉ2…
80s pop diva Sinitta will be performing one of her biggest hits.
Our Panel of Love – comedian and broadcaster Doireann Garrihy, country singer Philomena Begley and presenter Eoghan McDermott – will be doling out some sage, and possibly not so sage, advice to the hapless singletons in the audience.
Plus there will be performances by 80s pop legends T’Pau singing China in Your Hand and country star Mike Denver with his version of a much loved classic..

The Late Late Show Valentine’s Special tomorrow at 9.35pm on RTÉ One
Graham Norton is on BBC one at 10:30pm. Please watch it. For your mental health. The Late Late show is not good for you.
RTE in general is not good for you……shut it down and do us all a favour!
Graham Norton isn’t as good as it used to be. Which is understandable; Graham must be knackered from doing it at this stage.
Tommy Tiernan is an interesting watch. Maybe watch that on the rte player while the late late is on.
Graham ‘inhale, gasp, giggle giggle, innuedo’ Norton irritates the livin’ phook out of me.
+1 Agreed. A recent episode featured Liam Neeson, Jamie Dornan and Helen Noreen, it was the best show I’ve seen in a long time.
My reply was to Not On Your Nelly
Tommy Tiernan is sooooooo much better.. Doesn’t even have or need any guests of any particular fame on. The format & Tommy make it a great show.
Tubridy gives me a pain in botty..as far D’arcy – he’s for the birds altogether.
Absolutely. Watched last night. Damian Dempsey and Tommy were what chat shows should be about. Grounded real people being open and genuine.
Hello. So what are we going to talk about? The format is superb because there is a certain initial awkwardness to it which we all experience when meeting someone new. It feels quite personal. Has it ever been used elsewhere I wonder?
Dunno..but it makes it fairly interesting..& Tiernan is a bit looped too.
That bit at the end of the interview when Dempsey sung unaccompanied was spellbinding I thought.
Yeah.. that was the last time I cried..:-) Last night listening to that.
Your man from TG4 wasn’t bad at all either.
Tommy is great. He has intelligence & a bit of depth to him.. Surprising RTE have him on..they seem to prefer the planks usually.
“that was the last time I cried.”
Jesus Wept. Where did we get this 1 and what heinous crimes did we do to deserve it. A greater gowl you wont meet.
That was a question on the show u ape sh*t. Trot along you troll. you dont seem to understand fupp off.
A vulgar potty mouth at that.
We’re watching Lovesick on Netflix at the moment and it’s rather good.
The End of the F**king World is great too.
Me too! I like the friend more than the drippy protagonist. Took me ages to recognise him (the blond fella) as the actor who played young Einstein in Genius, the National Geographic show.
Lovesick was initially called Scrotal Recall. Heh.
Yes it was; we finished The Good Place on Friday night and stumbled onto this by mistake and the bingeing has begun. They *all* play well off each other. Her from Misfits and Sunshine on Leith is great anyway, and the two eejits grow on you; hated Luke initially but then his motivations become, y’know, clearer.
anyway – i’ll add EOTFW to the list. Ta.
Poor Young Offenders cast. Stuck in a room full of langered singletons prepared to embarass themselves on national tv for their 15 minutes. They should cry off sick, let Mike Bloopin Denver cover their slot and come back next week. I don’t think tomorrow’s audience would notice the difference.
Wasn’t Sinitta married to Brad Pitt?
Think she dated him briefly.
She also “dated” Simon Cowell.
On a totally unrelated note, here’s a picture of Simon Cowell with a beard.
