The first car free Sunday in Paris, France resulted in a 40% drop in air pollution and a 50% fall in noise pollution.

Excellent idea. It could help the city to get used to the concept before College Green becomes a plaza!
Great idea and I’d love to see it in action but surely it’s very impractical – especially for a city the size of Paris?
The Metro makes it very easy to get around Paris.
Wouldn’t the small size of Dublin city center make it easy to get around by walking?
The problem with Dublin is the buses. Paris is very well connected by its metro and train network. Dublin relies on big noisy dirty buses.
It’s certainly a problem, though they would be less detrimental if they weren’t sitting in traffic.
Dublin is a fraction of the size.
I though Dublin City Council was already going to do this with the College Green Plaza – and remove all traffic
Love to see it happen!
This is a great idea. Even if it was just Dublin between the canals or something.
If there’s a Will there’s a Way! It won’t happen citywide due to necessary bus and emergency services, but could easily happen in an agreed quarter!? Garda also play a big part in agreeing anything!
Yeah but Paris has an actual transport system. Think about people with restricted mobility that rely on cars to get around. Build an underground instead of fannying about with the luas/metro/whatever and get back to me
+ reliable frequent infrastructure
+ sunshine ( I’m not allowing myself to believe in the current tease we are experiencing and it’s cold in the shade )
we have a minor version of this ovah heah in nyc. excellent notion.
