An impressive, HD remastered clip from The Song Remains The Same (1976) featuring Led Zeppelin playing Dazed and Confused in a performance filmed at New York’s Madison Square Garden in 1973.
Look out for Jimmy Page playing his guitar with a cello bow and the nonverbal mid-solo conversation between John Paul Jones and John Bonham.

Saw this in the Adelphi when it came out and only very recently discovered why it has always been a disappointment. Due to some screw up, they had to use the audio from one gig and the visuals from the other.
Explains rather a lot.
I only saw it once and lets just say i was under the influence. Thought it was amazing, this new information isn’t surprising in the least.
Needs more cowbell, obvs.
Contenders for the most overrated band in musical history, IMHO.
agree
up there with the doors, at least
I can’t believe you’re both going to do this to me again :(
Why do you both hate jurassic music so much !
did you fall in with that Doors renaissance in the early 90s when the film came out? i never felt so alone as during that time
(and your loss – it meant you probably missed out on the stone roses)
Why didn’t you call me?
I HATE The Doors, Junior Cert poetry over lazy jazz.
Harsh words, B.
Probably a bit earlier than that Brother but no fear, I didn’t miss out on the stone roses. god forbid.
Ian Brown cannot sing. I always preferred the Happy Mondays. I love Shaun Ryder.
sacrilege
i saw him being thrown out of the long hall by the barman with the massive lips
Completely agree, he cannot sing a note to save his life.
However, they’re still bleedin deadly
He probably heard him singing and did the right thing by funting him out on his arse.
I like most of their songs (Ten Storey Love Song being a favourite): he just can’t sing them. I went to see him doing his solo stuff: brutal. Despite that, Save Us is a great tune.
and ABBA
And Nirvana
(this feels oddly liberating)
pearl jam can fupp off too
and foo fighters
in fact, that whole seattle thing was abhorrent
and Dave Matthews
I’m enjoying myself now
and Metallica !
And The Clash.
So now.
ah no… knew it wouldn’t be possible to keep consensus for long
the clash had their moments
I just think their moments are few and far between and not proportionate to their reputation.
YOU’RE abhorrent. I used to love PJ but Eddie Vedder’s an awful moany-hole.
I saw Page & Plant playing together. Yonks ago (all my “cool stories” were yonks ago) in Oakland, CA. They were pretty good, I must say, considering I knew fupp all about LZ..
i always thought page & plant should have called themselves pant
Cool story, bro.
Did Tenacious D support Metallica in Dublin? If so, I saw them and they were BRILLIANT live. I’m pretty sure it was them.
no
Eh. Yes. 2008
But yes, Dave Matthews can do one.
What, the Clash were underrated if anything! You refer to maybe just three big hits Bert. You’ll go straight to hell for that remark.
Who was it so? They were loud. Was it AC/DC? Lordy me (it’s the fat slags).
i don’t know
i was just being annoying to get your attention
(update: tenacious d supported metallica in marlay park in 2008. so there)
Only ten years ago? That’s pretty recent compared with most of my other jollies. I’d say Page & Plant were 1998 or so.
At least we agree on Nirvana
Sure they were just a yank version of the smiths
Feck off Janet
come on honey
let it all out
you’ll feel better ;)
Stone Roses, one half-decent remix.
Not while Talking Heads walk the earth
David Byrne born in Dumbarton….
but you knew that :)
his father had a trial with Celtic
I wonder was Gil Heron there at the time….
hah…I did not know that
Nonsense!
Fun Fact: I got thrown off a bus in a little village in rural England for playing LZ loudly through earphones.
that happened to me, too – not the LZ bit (obviously). and instead of getting thrown off the bus, i meekly turned off my walkman. and then sat seething for the rest of the journey. in the years since, i’ve thought of some pretty cutting retorts. next old one who tells me to turn off my music will rue the fupping day.
I got detention for putting a cassette tape of Gang Green on the music teachers player during class…. it was worth it :)

Enduring the wafts of urine and Werthers Original should’ve been licence enough to play what one damn well liked at full throttle.
Glaring viciously at the back of someone’s head. That always shows ’em.
And huffing and sighing really loudly.
or you could tell them to feck off
sticks out tounge
Oh Bertie
I suppose Wagner is more your cup of tea?
But not the great German composer who brought you the rings but x factors lump of lard who brought you Louis walshes praise
Led zeppelin were the greatest rock and roll band on the planet
And still great today is Robert plant
Mind you many bands of greatness were around during the golden age of modern music and my generation were spoilt for choice
When Gods bestrode the Earth. Look upon their works ye mighty, and Despair.
This thread is making me tetchy…
I rather enjoyed it
I guess I’m just upset I didn’t get q chance to argue.
No need to, Dolores.
I meant discuss in an intelligent and sophi…
Talking Heads are one of the most creative and influential bands of all time!!!!
Pearl Jam Ten is one of the greatest albums OF ALL TIME!!!!!! You’re all WRONG!!!
There. Much better. :)
Ten is brilliant. Eddie Vedder is a moany botty. Not mutually exclusive statements.
Yep
Talking about talking heads oi would love to get the muppet who remastered their stop talking sense CD
They absolutely vandalised it
I lost my original copy which is possibly one of the five best live albums ever and destroyed it by remixing certain tracks
Its up there with made in Japan, rattle and hum, peter Gabriel live
It’s never too late to argue
and sure the cosmic joke is we all are arguing with ourselves
Why are you posting as 5 different users too? I thought it was just me.
Ah no I could never keep up
I mean seriously who has the time ?
A calming presence with a filthy mind. Where would we be without you Janet ;).
Ah I’m flattered..thanks
it will get you everywhere ;)
In for a penny, in for a pound…..
BLUR.
and Oasis !
I hate the Smiths, yer mans voice. Uber-ponce!
Although I LOVE The Smiths, I can understand how people might dislike Morrissey.
But Johnny Marr is a hero.
Glad to see some sacred cows being slaughtered.
Anyone for Joni Mitchell?
God yes.
