yeah…see I often wondered about this

whenever there’s a burger-off discussion here on BS ‘oul Eddie Rockets never ever ever ever gets a mention…& although not bad atall either I don’t mean the posh Rockets one….nope it’s all Bunsen this Bunsen that Bunsen the other

the fella or girl’s ability at the grill is also a factor

there’s def better burgers per category in town than Bunsen (imho of course)

haven’t had that Moose one yet but it’s now on my radar next time I’m near Kilkenny, congrats!

Bunsen is a good burger in a terrible place. I feel like they want you out as soon as you sit down.

Chips on the plate please, toss that ridiculous stainless recipient. Also, what’s the knife for? I swear I cant stand this rubbish anymore.

I’m sure it tastes good and I wish them well but it looks like another hipster monstrosity…

Any half-decent burger, let alone a classic should fit in one hand without dripping all over the place and falling apart into soggy liguid drenched pieces as soon as you take a bite.

In other words, it’s not a burger if you need to skewer the damn thing to keep it from falling apart, it’s a pretentious decorative cry for attention and a nuiscance to try to enjoy no matter how good the ingredients or the cooking skills involved.

Looks aren’t everything for you social media food-porn addicts -bloody everywhere these days,,, transfixed by facederp, snapcrap, instaphlegm etc. You’re like a bunch of zombies and you know who you are….

Isn’t a burger supposed to be one of the easiest things to make well, sell cheap and eat easily on the go.. and be able to enjoy every bite…

    Y’know, isn’t that the whole point !?!?!

Agree. I prefer girth than height and in floury baps not brioche. Gherkins or go home. I make my own these days with variable seasonings like chipotle and they’re whoppers. Hoop Hamburgers will blow those hipsters to hell.

I bought me a couple of those swanky Australian wagyu burgers in F&B last Friday. Grilled them outside Sunday night. Brioche bun – well you do these days right?! Some blue cheese – buffalo blue again from F&B, fried onions and mushrooms. It was a surreal burger eating experience.

But yeah. Bunsen is still pretty much the benchmark in Dublin anyways. Chips are only ok tho.

    Moose burger looks good.

  5. Termagant

Appleologies to Mr. Telford there but the best burger in the country is found on the grill outside the Martello in Bray on a thirsty Saturday evening

    BIB: Bunsen is Best.

Will the Oirish Toimes be sending Catherine Cleary to review it?
