    This weather of late does not excuse farmers from not making hay. My Uncle Joe – 73 saved his 20 acres of hay this summer. It may not seem a lot, but it’s all for the horses. He specializes in half-bales, easily carried. Adapt and survive seems to be the key.

      Why didn’t all the farmers think of making hay out of all the spare grass they don’t have?Ridiculous comment.

    Teagasc need to step up to the plate and start discussing the size of the national herd. The lack of milk quotas has seen a massive increase and it is now clear (climate change n’all) that the country / climate cannot sustain such numbers.
