Oh.
Tweets last night about the Blogging Unveiled controversy from John Mooney, an investigative journalist with The Sunday Times.
The last line in the second tweet is reference to Mr Mooney and his paper’s role in the Maurice McCabe saga.
And barely-veiled criticism of those who confirmed the source of negative and dishonest briefings about the Garda whistleblower.
Yes.
Good times.

Can anyone explain the drama with blogger unveiled person?
My take is:
Bloggers/people on social media have been given free stuff in exchange for Instagram pictures and the unveiler has unveiled this and now the Instagrammers want the unveiling persons head?
Is that all it is?
That’s it. Hacks love Twitter. Saves them having to do any real work.
It seems to be a spat because these ‘influencers’ who are, it would appear, lazy, self absorbed and entitled @ssholes do not like when their lies and BS is called out.
I might have that wrong, but when you see how they are feted by D’Indo and RTE I might not.
Vogue Williams, Una Healy, Cheryl Cole, Pippa O’Conner, Roz Purcell, Lottie Ryan, Amy Huberman, Francis Brennan, Etc., yawn.
Lazy work from INM and the Daily Mail usually sub-headed with the word “adorable” somewhere.
That was my understanding of it.
Then i see that one of the lads from the White Moose Cafe got involved and I THINK he’s *not* on the side of the person who did the unveiling, or have I got that wrong? I’m not sure if ‘not on the side of the person who did the unveiing’ means that he’s ‘on the side of the influencers plugging stuff and not letting on they’re paid for the plugs’ though.
God almighty. I saw this on Twitter last night and couldn’t make head nor tail of it. Then I realised I didn’t care. Having said that, I prefer not to care while being fully informed, so it rankled.
It’s Gossip Girl by way of Dealz….
Is there a bloggers veiled scandal in Saudi? Or Tuam?
This is brain damage. Do not interact with the brain damage.

Just engaging with the idea of ‘celebrity influencers’ is likely to cause a mass die off of neurons!
totally lost faith in Mooney
ah that’s cute
mind you I didn’t see him or his paper make much of one of these Influencers getting their ar5e handed back to them by Advertising Standards
sum’ting to do with make-up flawless finish stuff but the selfie was touched up
Mooney works for the Sunday Times. The same crowd that use acquisition Storyful to spy on its own hacks. (Silence from the Gavin Sheridan and Mark Little – the White Moose Cafe duo of Irish startups – love-in brigade).
Revealed: Storyful uses tool to monitor what reporters watch

You’d need your head examined to trust journalists to keep sources confidential in this country. Big tech is watching you. And they’re all still on Facebook… including the outraged Irish Times…

Too soon? Can a blogger verify this t-shirt please?

Are these silly wits thick as poo poo or what?
When the source waives their anonymity, ‘journalistic privilege’ isn’t relevant.
Yer just a shower of weasles saying yer protecting a source who’s already come out fuppwits.
No one is fooled. Yer protecting yerselves and the former gangsters at the head of the guards.
