RTE’s reverential coverage of the Pope’s visit was not journalism. It was propaganda for an institution that has been criminally complicit in the rape and buggery of children around the world and is the prime institutional carrier of mysogyny and homophobia.

Can only conclude after a few days of comparing news coverage with public sentiment re Pope, that editors have fixed views on how certain stories should be covered, which cannot be dislodged either by passage of time or social change

Oh.
Meanwhile…
Ah here.

Thats VIncent off the Vatican’s Xmas Selection Box list anyway. I suspect it’s cousin Malachy pressing the Twitter keys for him though.
Cam’r disagree that Terry Crone must be worried about new contenders…
Go da Vinnie.
Fancy running for the big house?
Thought he was in poor health?
I don’t get the homophobia bit as nearly all priests and nuns seem to be gay .
And yet you have learned to type on a keyboard? Bless.
I asked a question it doesn’t fit with your paymasters narrative so you question my ability to touch letters on a screen.
Is this a bot?
your not alone-lin to astounding Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò letter.
“In an extraordinary 11-page written testament, a former apostolic nuncio to the United States has accused several senior prelates of complicity in covering up Archbishop Theodore McCarrick’s allegations of sexual abuse, and has claimed that Pope Francis knew about sanctions imposed on then-Cardinal McCarrick by Pope Benedict XVI but chose to repeal them.”

Go Vincent!
Fair play to be fair
Well said Vinnie, I listened to some rte podcasts today and they continually referenced that there was a crowd of 500k in the Park…its pure propaganda.
To be fair? I got an alert from RTÉ news on-line that Il Papa Fransisco had signed a Maigh Eo geansa and perhaps blessed it? Perhaps Mayo, one day? Nonetheless – he whispered into a Waterford type – Tyrone by a goal in the last minute next Sunday.

I don’t usually get personal in these matters but Aine Lawlor’s commentary was the creepiest, most fawning and sycophantic I have heard in all my life – and I’m old.30 odd years ago the story was RTE was somehow infested with “Reads”! Uber R wing 1/2
Sheik, is that you? Áine Lawlor is not everyone’s cup of altar wine, that’s for sure.
Marty Whelan on Saturdays coverage was cringe inducing…at one stage he actually said ‘He’s a face you could love so much’…
I no longer have a tv.
He did. And only moments before, Ms. Cu remarked that he hadn’t said anything completely inane and stupid at the same time. It ended up like a Eurovision commentary. RTÉ were right shocking.
go bigly – or go home!
