Michael D will walk this election. He has done nothing wrong in his first term. However there are valid concerns about his age.
There are just too many people running against him, they will split each other’s vote.

When in doubt, my vote goes to whoever is likely to cost the least- usually the oldest so we’ll be least burdened with their pension.

So squee Micheal D. by a mile.

She is a most impressive lady for her age. If I look anywhere near as good as her at that age I’ll be chuffed.

She probably has footmen giving her foot massages at night but yeah. I wouldn’t fancy her life though, except being able to say ‘Off with their heads!’ Heads be rollin’….

That’s fair enough, but still, she’s in her nineties and is a working royal in that she still does engagements and performs her duties as queen, which she’s been doing for over fifty years now. I’d say she’s impressive for her age.

Still, she’s not a patch on you ;)

She’s an outstanding Diplomat too. I was hugely impressed with her on the state visit here. Considering she didn’t choose the life she has, she’s pretty good at the stateswoman role

Yeah its all about product placement with the royals these days. Look how the sales of Land Rover Discovery took off after she was carted round in them. Same with the younger ones and the dresses.

Something worth thinking about for the presidential role. Although, squee sporting an Irish designer may not have the desired retail effect.

I mentioned it here before – Jaguar Land Rover (Owner: Tata of India) provide the royal family with vehicles free of charge or at steeply discounted leases, because there is no better advertisement than HM the Queen being ferried about in one.

One minute it’s “we’ll all live to be a hundred and there’ll be a pension crisis” and the next it’s “Michael D is getting on a bit”.

Is there some faerie curse that should any Uachtaráin na hÉireann die in office the Brits’ll be coming back or what? I don’t understand the fear at all so I can only put it down to people not having a real excuse for replacing him.

I would like to see a change but as they say, be careful what you wish for. I’ll take squee over Gallagher or a dragon any day.

There’s no one else on the Ballot yet

Dragon hunt lad Gammon Duffy has 1 Council : needs 3 more
Maria Steen’s Aunty Joan has 1 Council: needs 3 more

The Dragon that looks like a minion that hasn’t been seen since the last Presidential Gallagher has already said Wexford are nodding him along with Cavan n’ Leitrim : although nathin’ yet, but at least he knows he’s well sorted
So basically, the eFFers have 1 in the field
And the Blueshurts 1 but he’s kinda FF too
And the Iona Institute have 1

        1. Frilly Keane

But shur’ wasn’t she pictured at dos and meetings there with them in the run up t’ the referendum

Her and her sister Teresa (Lowe)

BTW. She’s a Fianna Fail Senate nominee so she’s being well looked after

    1. Lilly

I agree, but no decent alternatives so far. Catherine Corless would get my vote but the gig wouldn’t attract her.

    Just don’t forget to vote…

I’d be happy with the guitar Smyth just as much but even happier if the Aras / office of the president had more powers to override or more importantly, kick the establishment right up the hole on a weekly basis and remind them how priveledged their position is on behalf of the ordinary decent criminally under-served….

Enough of this identity celebrity wanker-ism…

    Where are the real leaders?…

Does leadership and responsibility even mean anything to this country?

What is the best way to make traditional kimchi in less than six months…?

Ooops… (It’s just my typical highly evolved oirish mentality)

He has never claimed to be a distinguished poet. It’s enough for most people that he appreciates and promotes the arts.
