Hozier

Anyone get presale tickets for Hozier this morning? They were gone at 9am (the time when they were supposed to go on sale).
Remember when you could buy tickets to gigs you wanted to go to? You could even pick where you wanted to sit.
I will happily fight anyone on the street who says that these tickets aren’t being bulk bought somehow.
Anyone?/FIGHT!

I presume there will be competitions on radio stations, websites etc to win tickets to this gig. Do these tickets get held aside for the likes if this? If so, anyone have any idea how many are typically held back?
Then I presume there are other corporate tickets held back, as well as some for the promotor, some for the venue, sponsors, etc?
Advertising on the radio stations and in the press is prepaid with tickets, as in the stations, etc. (and corporates, sponsors, etc.) have their tickets assigned before they go on sale to the public.
…including websites, etc and any other promo media vehicles used by the promoter.
Again, on numbers “held back” ie, assigned can also vary widely depending on the event, the size of the venue, the individual ticket price, popularity of the act, the agent/acts’ own demands, and any expectation of a possible sell out, among other factors.
Also, once the promoter has done a deal with the like of Ticketmaster, sales of tickets are very much out of the promoters hands.
Promoters even have to pay for advertising on the Ticketmaster website, which I always thought was a bit much… and TM sure know how to charge for that advertising.
Thanks!
No bother :)
From the site:
“Tickets go on general sale on Friday 21st September. To get access to a special pre-sale for the UK & Irish dates sign up here.” https://hozier.lnk.to/UKTourPresaleFP
Sadly also:
Sign up for a special fan pre-sale to Hozier’s December UK & Ireland tour. Sign up before 3pm (BST) on Tuesday 18th September to gain access. The pre-sale will take place at 9am on Wednesday 19th September.
I’ve never heard Hozier but Seymour Stein was raving about him on the Alec Baldwin podcast.
Olympia Theatre too. Less than 4,000 available for the 3 gigs. They’ll be like gold dust.
Makes sense you have no idea how promoting or the music industry works… if your going to a hozier gig.
Hozier is a nice fella and writes his own music. And he is very tall and has lovely hair and is kinda shy and those eyes and…
I know him, he’s sound. Attracts a lot of bell ends though….
It’s been known for a while that they’re keeping tickets back and bulk buying. BBC put people undercover in some of the resale sites a couple of years ago. Some of the practices are disgusting.

Watching now, thanks :)
It wont help but I’ve seen him live and was just barely above being ok. You won’t miss much.
