Anyone get presale tickets for Hozier this morning? They were gone at 9am (the time when they were supposed to go on sale).

Remember when you could buy tickets to gigs you wanted to go to? You could even pick where you wanted to sit.

I will happily fight anyone on the street who says that these tickets aren’t being bulk bought somehow.

Anyone?/FIGHT!

I presume there will be competitions on radio stations, websites etc to win tickets to this gig. Do these tickets get held aside for the likes if this? If so, anyone have any idea how many are typically held back?
Then I presume there are other corporate tickets held back, as well as some for the promotor, some for the venue, sponsors, etc?

Advertising on the radio stations and in the press is prepaid with tickets, as in the stations, etc. (and corporates, sponsors, etc.) have their tickets assigned before they go on sale to the public.

Again, on numbers “held back” ie, assigned can also vary widely depending on the event, the size of the venue, the individual ticket price, popularity of the act, the agent/acts’ own demands, and any expectation of a possible sell out, among other factors.

Also, once the promoter has done a deal with the like of Ticketmaster, sales of tickets are very much out of the promoters hands.
Promoters even have to pay for advertising on the Ticketmaster website, which I always thought was a bit much… and TM sure know how to charge for that advertising.

      Sadly also:
