Scenes from the visit to Ireland by Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestine National Authority, which included talks with President Higgins, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and  Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveeney.

At a press conference, where an additional €1m to the UN Relief Agency for Palestine Refugees was announced, Mr Coveney said:

“We discussed the idea of Ireland hosting a small informal meeting of a few Arab and European foreign ministers with Palestinian representatives in the coming months…”
