They Moved Through The Fair

Yesterday.

At the Ballinasloe Horse Fair in Co Galway.

Presidential candidate Gavin Duffy and his wife Orlaith Carmody greet members of the public (pics 2 to 6) while President Michael D Higgins, who’s running for a second term as the president, also mixes with the crowds before officially opening the event (pic 7 to 11).

That shirt with those bling cuff links looks like its a Charvet, his satorial style and embrace of this lifestyle is reminiscent of Haughey.Hard make out but looks like those cuff links say Victori sunt spolia.
The crown has a nice little earner in slapping the seal of approval on tchotchkes, has Mickey D ever looked into earning a few bob, to offset his hidden allowances by approving say his favorite crystal for decanting his claret,Waterford or Baccarat…..
Modern Ireland huh,the communist in the park has his valet dressing him in a bespoke three piece suit and cufflinks, while a homeless woman carries her dead children to hospital.

Gavin Duffy has the worst “smile” I’ve seen in a long time.
Can he not relax his mouth into a happy, agreeable pose?

Rather than the gurn he usually wears

Getting a photoshoot with the ethnic population requires statesmanship. No smiling please.

In Pic 2, the statue looks like he’s attempting to part Duffy’s legs …as a prelude to a cavity search.
That’s one Prelude I wouldn’t like to have to listen to!
