Mind Your Head

Dublin Rental Investigator tweetz:

€1,000pm for this Glasnevin garage conversion where your bedroom is in a mezzanine with so little room you probably cannot stand up in it. It also probably takes a bit of dexterity to get into the room.

The Planning Enforcement section of Dublin City Council would be interested in this place I’d imagine.

Already down. Whether that’s because its gone that quickly or because it has appeared here is questionable.

    Here’s the garage in question… Jebus H…

Tax free too under the rent a room scheme.

Is it actually possible to do this for a room that isn’t actually in a house?

What is wrong with this country where a garage without planning permission becomes 1k a month rental yet landlords get a free pass on tax in the budget and nobody is asking why?

So many landlords who are politicians and councillors may have something to do with it.

I don’t see how renting out a converted garage is any different than renting out a room in your house to a student.
There’s probably more space in it,lots of privacy and you can break wind in peace without the landlady hearing you.
I lived in far worse gaining my Double First.

Thats the way the coutry is now, imagine how the Japanese feel. And i dont think that the haters here have ever lived in student accommodation, luxury having a sink and a toilet. Think some people are jealous they’ve no garage to sit and and bemoan other people. Blame the government not the people, far too many people sitting on their arse collecting their PAY each week but thats fine, dont see any of the above complain about that.

Sure there’s nothing wrong with a low ceiling, renters in Dublin are all on their knees anyway
