Nothing Stops This Train

at

This morning.

The 6am Waterford to Dublin train ploughed through debris from Storm Calllum Just outside Thomastown, County Kilkenny.

Broadsheet habitué ‘Clampers Outside’ was among the survivors.

He reports:

We  hit a “huge tree” that damaged the front of the train cab, smashing the head lights

Poor driver  must’ve got some shock… lifted me a little, sitting in the front cabin all by me lonesome at the time.

Arrived Dublin 10 mins-ish late…

“survivors” …I proper laughed out loud :)

In fairness, it was the driver who said the lights got smashed, although in the pic it doesn’t appear so.
Lights on far side of train, out of pic, were cracked, so possibly not working.

Probably only 6 or 7 people on the train at the time as it happened in the black of night/morning, 6.20am-ish, and before the first stop.

In true broadsheet style, this picture is fake and it is clearly a conspiracy.

4Chan is saying that Clampers was driving the train and that Hillary Clinton was the only passenger.

    Or something.

    THE TRUTH WILL OUT!

I read recently that British Rail abandoned the practice of cutting back all trees and foliage near railway lines when steam locomotives were withdrawn in the late 60s. The reason for defoliation had been that leaves were a fire hazard due to stray embers. Even though it quickly became apparent that leaves on the line were just as serious a problem, they never bothered to restore the practice.

habitué – what a great word.

On the bright side Clampers, you’re too old to die young. :)
