    What a player.
Foster is one of those brave politicians who thinks governments should carry out the will of the people as voted on in the referendum and not hide behind the weasel words of a second referendum campaign.
A consummate politician doing what the voters demanded.
    Ulster’s own Donald Trump

remind us again what the will of the NI electorate – which she represents – was again, charger ?

(not surprised she’s your type of woman, though)

The view of the UK electorate, which Northern Ireland is part of,was for the country to leave the EU.
Doesn’t get much simpler than that old cock.
You wouldn’t expect any part of Ireland refusing to adopt proposed abortion legislation because they happened to vote against it.

        1. Donal

So abortion is free safe and legal in N Ireland as per the 1967 legislation enacted in Westminster, yeah?

          1. Ollie Cromwell

In 1967 the Northern Ireland Assembly was still making its own laws.
            That’s how democracy works.

          2. Stan

Jesus Ollie – there was no ‘Northern Ireland Assembly’ in 1967; ’twas the Northern Ireland Parliament. Nowt worse than the troll who can’t get his facts right.

        2. Leopold Gloom

She hasn’t represented the people of northern ireland in a long time, given that she is doing all she can to not have an assembly. She’s propping up an entirely ineffective and useless british PM too.

Paddy really doesn’t like strong women.
Unless she is Frau Merkel in which case he hops to her orders like a one-legged drunk.

There is more chance of a particular South Armagh Sinn Fein civil engineer having a local planning application refused than Leo and Arlene agreeing to anything pertaining to Brexit tonight.

    Frankie Boyle tweeted…
“Brexit has many downsides but I think it will be nice for the Irish to watch a British famine.”

    Just sayin…

I suppose at least the next time she visits maybe she’ll require her passport to enter.

    SO. what’s afoot here Broadsheeters?

A 5 year backstop with a referendum sting in the tail for a 32 counties?
    or
A big oul fence (including a fair amount of dead people & smuggling)
    or
They finally realise that Britannia doesn’t rule many waves anymore, back out & stfu

    ?

    Theresa May just today sez

Creating any form of customs border between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK would mean a fundamental change in the day-to-day experience for businesses in Northern Ireland – with the potential to affect jobs and investment.

Round of applause? Throw flowers even? It’s not Panti Bliss in the Abbey but increased no nonsense across a line on a map is always good for people who couldn’t care less about it in the first place.

Arlenes problem is the repercussions of that being the 6 counties will be a separate financial area than the rest of the UK. She won’t stand for the 6 counties being anything other than the 6 counties being exactly the same as the rest if UK. She doesn’t seem to give a toss for the financial implications of it and the fact a border would be required.

      1. Kolmo

The DUP are silently screaming for a moat to be built around the 6 counties but they must know they have done more to politically re-attatch the North to the rest of the country by accepting bribes (£430,000) to push for the Brexit insanity. They were manipulated by the shady backroom tory club, they are nothing more than useful Paddys, the illogical and irrational decision to remove themselves from the worlds largest trading block with no actual plan exposes the depth of paranoid bitterness within that party, a very easily manipulatable mentality. They think they are not on the Island of Ireland with the rest of us, they are backwoods people, affecting a Surrey accent (see Donaldson, from Kilkeel..) seeing how long they can pretend to be a part of the English club…the jig is up.

        1. SOQ

Have you ever been to Kilkeel?

You dare not park a southern car or any other with GAA stickers etc on one side of the main street.

Bitter doesn’t even begin to describe them.

          1. Kolmo

I have been, very briefly, in Kilkeel, not a particularly welcoming town, but still in semi-rural South Co. Down, not the Home counties of London as Donaldson would have you believe with his newly affected accent
