Yesterday afternoon.
Eyre Square, Galway.

They’re felling an old tree in Eyre Square. The “crown” was dead and it posed a danger, said one of the feller fellas… bummer! :(
On a nicer note, they’re going to keep approximately 2 metres of the trunk stump to craft a sculpture from it… Yay! :)….

Aw not one of those ugglybottom carved wood sculptures. Can’t stand the one in Clontarf.
Ah now, I think the one St Anne’s looks great.
I was lucky enough to be passing by while they were working on that…nearly crashed the car in amazement at the thing & at the chainsawing skills going on!! Sure why wouldn’t you do something nice like this with a dead tree? Superb
Dead or the council sick of the leaves?
