The Oscar Wilde Temple by artists McDermott & McGough.
Studio Voltaire, 1a Nelsons Row, London SW4.
A church dedicated to the Irish poet and playwright is now open and free to the public for six months, until March 31, 2019 – “to all faiths and non–believers alike”.
They say:
Individuals and families will be welcomed into The Oscar Wilde Temple for private reflection as well as to celebrate LGBTQ+ marriages, naming ceremonies, vow renewals, memorials and markings of other important occasions….
In fairness.

would oscar have approved of that wallpaper, though?
feck Oscar, I do
a small bit too fussy for my liking
either the curtains go, or I do
[looks at the pictures]: no curtains; you’re staying then. Cool.
blue curtains on the door ?
Well I like it.
Let’s go.
Its a nice idea, but why only LGBTQ+ marriages? Why can’t a heterosexual couple get married there?
That seems unnecessarily discriminatory.
’cause a heterosexual couple can get married practically anywhere – any church in the land.
LGBTQ+ is more restrictive.
Oh, and because OW was gay!
If they’re preaching a message of tolerance though they shouldn’t ban a section of the population arbitrarily. Its extremely hypocritical.
“Equality and acceptance for all! Except you people”.
If you want to have your heterosexual marriage there, just ring up and ask them. I can’t see you being refused.
The Importance of Being Earrnie and Bert.
It’s curtains for cis society as we know it.
Will heterosexual couples EVER catch a break?
Jesus wept, the font on that sign. I’d rather read comic sans
I didn’t know if t’was the big giant thumb tacks or the crassness of the rules done out like bullet points
I was thinking that Oscar himself would’ve snarled back at them
before redrawing them genteelly and poetically
but maybe now you’re right
its the font
a bit too Upstairs Downstairs

Because Transgender-ism is a real thing because we say it is.
Because it’s not just in our heads.
