And Mister Green.
Bohemian FC writes:
Dalymount Park has played a unique part – chiefly in the sporting – but also in the musical and cultural history of Ireland.
The Home of Irish Football was graced in the 1970s by Thin Lizzy and the Boomtown Rats, in the 1980s by Bob Marley, Meatloaf and Black Sabbath, and in the 1990s by Faith No More, Sonic Youth, Ice Cube and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
This jersey, designed by Bohemian FC in conjunction with our new kit supplier O’Neills, gives a nod to that history – and to the stadium’s special place in the hearts of both football and music fans.
In fairness.

Just when you thought League of Ireland couldn’t get any more yobbish…
I didn’t know anybody outside of the Daily Mail/Tories used the word yob.
Glad to see your Ryanair flight from your Barca FC weekend to London Stansted was on time. Muppet.
Lively Up Yourself Refereeeeeeee!
Reefereeeeee!
so if it’s a nod to the stadiums history, why is it the away jersey and not the home?
‘s called taking the sermon to the road, kiddo

The Bohs Are Back In Town!
Nice. Any chance of a competition to win one?
Does he come with the jersey I wonder….
It would be nice if it didn’t have Bob Marley on it. Can only presume it is an attempt to make money outside Ireland.
Sligos response is brilliant: https://twitter.com/sligorovers/status/1054698907673001984
That’s brilliant :)
I love the Dundalk one with Jim Corr on it! Complete with colander on his head
I’m heartened by the possibility that that jersey might actually exist.
It’s definitely an attempt to make some cash outside of Ireland. I don’t like it but it is a good piece of marketing
This is class.
Football and music are the 2 corner flags of any normal society.
Throw Bob Marley into the mix and it’s game on.
I want one of these bad boys.
As league of Ireland goes I’ve always been a fans Bohs. Because of the name and the history of the stadium.
And now they’re playing really good football.

“Johnny Giles and Bob Marley were close friends right from the time they first met in London in August 1972 to the time of Marley’s untimely death in May 1981.
While some may know Marley as a football fan, most may not know that Johnny Giles was (and remains) a huge lover of both reggae music and Jamacian culture. He is affectionately known as ‘Dub Rudie Giles’ amongst the Afro-Caribbean community of Harbourne, Birmingham where he lives today. He has been the chairpeson of the Irish-Jamacian Fraternal Society of Harborne for the last eight years”

What an amazing story, thanks Otis.
Be even better if it was true :)
As recalled by CTM…
“ I managed to unearth a fascinating story earlier this year that somehow had evaded historians for decades. In a nutshell that Bob Marley and Johnny Giles were close friends for nearly 10 years. It went viral. To our delight, Ray D’Arcy brought it up on his radio show when he interviewed Giles. A t-shirt, designed by the legendary Kev Squires, hit the shelves of Casa Rebelde soon after. To my despair, people still question its legitimacy to
this day.
The t-shirt in question

Just in time for the all important 29th anniversary of the gig in dalymount
It’s actually a very good point……

Bob would be dismayed being on the same shirt as another predatory gambling rathole.
And there I was thinking mr green was a herbal salesman
Its as ridiculous as it is genius. There is big market for football shirts from different countries, once the shirt is unusual and “retro” people buy them. And anyone in that sort of thing will see Bob and mr green and buy it. There is site online that specializes in unusual football jeresys.
that is a funny jersey!
thought it was the Carlow GAA update for 2018
Shoulda went with 2pac.
Jaysus that’s manky.
On this subject, I’m continually astonished that the same people who are outraged at the thought of alcohol companies sponsoring sports aren’t upset about bookies doing the same.
Spot on
