I did run into the tail end of it on Piccadilly. It was a very large march. There were plenty of the sort who you might imagine had the Guardian folded under their arm, if you were looking for them. In a crowd of that size, an observer of any stripe can happily confirm their own biases about the sort of people in attendance.

Used to think these were pretty funny, now not so sure. All the ‘high-larious’ signs seem to come out on the left-of-centre side, and they give the impression, maybe wrongly, that the people at the march care more about being seen to be terribly witty than about the cause. Unfortunately you need some anger, some non-ironic militancy for people to sit up and take notice of you.
Ollie Cromwell
This is correct.
Rather than the large-scale disruption of the Poll Tax riots or the genuine working class protest of the water charges here this was a twee day out by a largely white,middle-class group delighting in their own brilliance at the condescending signs they came up with.
It had the opposite effect of their intention and attracted widespread ridicule.
And even those marching seemed to have a casual grasp on the facts. https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2018/10/what-i-learned-at-the-peoples-vote-march/

More significant was the fact that not single Labour front-bencher or senior party politician either attended the march or tweeted in support of it.
Fact is both main parties are committed to respecting the result of the referendum.Corbyn and McDonnell have been anti-EU as long as they’ve been MPs.

There is no hope of a Loser’s Vote and these people had a jolly but completely wasted Saturday afternoon before rushing off to do a spot of shopping at Harvey Nicks.

seniority and relevance are determined by the number of votes someone gets?

A huge new contract means that Berliners will be driven around in British double decker buses from 2020 – despite Brexit taking place on 29th March 2019. BVG, the TFL of Berlin, has awarded British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis the contract to become the sole supplier of a new fleet of up to 430 new buses to power the new generation of above ground transport in the German capital.
Blighty – always on hand to make sure the German’s run their buses on time.
Marvellous,what ?

Chancellor Phillip Hammond has tax receipts in for the past year that are much higher than forecast indicating a robust British economy.
Before the referendum in March 2016 the OBR forecast a £21bn deficit for 2018/19.
After the referendum in Nov 2016 the forecast rose to £46bn.
By 2018 Spring statement the forecast was still £37bn.
Next Monday the Budget will reveal the OBT’s pre-referendum forecast was the most accurate.
Given tax revenues are so much stronger than expected the economy could actually be doing better than the official numbers suggest right now.
So no Brexit-induced collapse in public finances and the OBR once again left with red-faces for poor economic forecasting. http://www.ft.com/content/f3a3c518-d606-11e8-a854-33d6f82e62f8

Politico has examined the racial makeup of the European Parliament, and found that there are just 17 non-white MEPs, out of 751, or just a little over 2%.
And half of these non-white MEPs are British.
The European Parliament is the only representative body within the EU, meaning the Union is set to halve its racial diversity representation in March this year when British MEPs lose their jobs. The EU likes to sneer at the UK, calling Brexit xenophobic, in reality the British 9% of seats made up some 50% of their racial diversity.
Impressive work. Very creative.
