Organisers have blamed rain and RTÉ for the low turnout at the Papal Mass in Phoenix Park last August

I think that we all can agree
Each one of us wanted to be
In a park with the Pope
But we just couldn’t cope
With some rain, so we watched on TV

If what the organisers are saying is true, then it’s an even worse indictment of the Catholic Church in Ireland.
If some RTE reports, a bit of a walk, and rain are strong enough factors to keep people away from attending a shindig hosted by the top representative of their church on Earth, then the strength of people’s faith and/or their support for the church need to be questioned.

I blame God. He created RTE according to Catholics. How can they abandon their own logic like that? God did it. That is all

blame RTE for poor showing? FFS , blame the clouds for raining?, blame the people for having more sense?.
how about blaming the Catholic Church for being the absolute mess it is!

The linked article quotes Dublin Town as saying there was no precedent in recent years for the scale of the visit? Obama and the British Queen?

Farmers pray to god for fine weather, so god controls weather, it rained when Pope came to Ireland. God made it rain when Pope came to Ireland Q.E.D.

It absolutely had nothing to do with child abuse, clergy sex crimes (caused by “the Devil”) whereas people who have abortions for any reason are guilty of Nazi crimes ‘but with white gloves’. Deffo the bit of drizzle and the 10 minute walk.
