Don’t Sell It, Raffle It

This is not your mother’s tombola.

Irish tech entrepreneur Jonny O’Malley writes:

Go Raffle It is the worlds first personalised raffling platform, it can be used for personal and commercial use and also for your everyday charity events and fundraisers.

After you have selected the amount you want for your raffle, the ticket denominations, share it with friends and family on your social media platforms.

The raffle takes place as soon as you sell your last ticket, our specially designed algorithm picks a winner at random and emails everyone to announce the winner.

Cars, electronics, bikes, houses, vouchers and anything you can think of …Go Raffle It!

In fairness.

According to Price Charting, the Nintendo 64 (N64) currently (as of 10/26/18) goes for $36.01 without the box it came in, $64.99 if the system is complete in the box, and $373.94 if it is brand new in the box (never used).

raffle tickets are a tenner a pop. you’d be better saving a few extra bob and buying one outright, unless it’s the flutter you really want. but raffles are so oul wan

TheQ47: I misread your comment; I thought you wrote, ‘one and the sane person’ – phew!

No offense to Scottser/Cian, or Lilly/Vanilly!*

        * or anyone else who posts with multiple usernames and personalities.

        1. Vanessa off the Telly

I waited deliberately to see who would rope me in to this bit of everyday forum banter

And no surprise t’was you Pinker

          Two
          That’s 2
          A couple
          Of user logins I had
You’ll also find two sets of archives on the columinists wall to match

I know lads went to town claiming I was everyone else too
From Nigel to Millie to Rotide
          Nope
And I have no problem disclosing my source/ IPs from 3 devices I use daily
          Desktop, Slate and Phone
And quite frankly I’ve taken far too much aggro from lads with bloody noses ‘casue they can’t hold their own around here

          Grow up and cop on

          1. Yep

Vanessa, just take it as a giggle. It’s a reference point for the site at this point. I don’t think anyone cared at the time and even less care now. Majority are well aware of the useful effort you put in….unless you angry again is a ruse by you and John to get a few triple figure comment sections…FAKE NEWS.

Lilly/ Frilly/ Vanessa: did you just tell me to grow up and cop on?

4/5 years ago, I called you out on BS because I recognised you were using multiple avatars/ and devices associated with your different personalities which were affiliated with each device, yet, when I observed and commented on it, I was moderated to the point of non-existence on that particular thread – which also displayed a serious lack of respect by BS staff because they moderated my comments – not yours; it was obvious to me then that you were involved with BS.

Recently, you’ve admitted on BS TV to submitting comments under another username and device[s] – yet, it’s quite obvious that you post on BS with more than two personalities.

Maybe, you should take your own advice and ‘Grow up and cop on’ – try getting a life while you’re at it.

P.S. BS TV might have more viewers if you weren’t such an omnipotent presence.

          3. Vanessa off the Telly

I have no idea what historical event you’re referring to

let me emphatic about this. I posted under two avators. Full stop.

          4. Steph Pinker

… one more thing Lilly/ Frilly/ Vanessa: seeing as you ‘waited deliberately’ and you weren’t surprised it was me – even though I rarely engage with you for obvious reasons – I presume you have saved that post from a few years ago whereby I engaged with you [et. al], so, why don’t you re-post it again now?

I’m suggesting this so you can prove your bona fides and you don’t have to suffer any more “aggro from lads with bloody noses ‘casue they can’t hold their own around here”.

          5. realPolithicks

This is a genuine question (and not necessarily asked of you Vanessa, anyone can chime in) but I am curious as to why anyone feels the need to comment on here with more than one identity.

          6. millie st murderlark

This place confuses the heck out of me. I really like just being millie.

That’s more than enough personality for me.

          7. Brother Barnabas

i think what millie is trying to say is that she’s actually frilly

            milly/frilly… it was obvious really

          8. millie st murderlark

I feel like I’m doing a bad impression here.

Which is actually accurate. I’m rubbish at impersonations. The worst spy.

          9. Brother Barnabas

I suppose – and this is just me supposing – for people who comment under their actual name (like vanessa), it might be nice to have an anonymous name for more candid or facetious or playful comments. maybe. like sometimes I’m me, other times I’m johnny keenan

          10. ? Janet, I ate my avatar

in the words of the original Scotty,
she kannae take it any more captain,
            who’s who now ?

      2. Cian

        @TheQ47
For the avoidance of doubt. I have never* posted under any other username than Cian

        * with a small handful of exceptions where I used a joke name like “Spartacus” or an extension to Cian e.g. “C(ontrar)ian” – in these cases I used my normal email address so they had my usual avatar.

** there is another, occasional, poster that also uses “Cian”

raffle tickets are a tenner a pop. you’d be better saving a fiver and putting the other five towards a quick session with ollie cromwell’s missus, unless it’s the flutter you really want. but she’s a nice enough oul wan who’s needs and hobbies are quaint, like scratch cards and bingo.

        1. Martco

I have also heard, now & keep this to yourself, that if his nibs is also present you might well be in line for some cashback. if that’s your thing like.
