Criminal charges and a lifetime ban to the player involved. I think every player of every sport has argued with a referee at some point. Lots of them are lousy too but assault is simply not on.

apparently it was 3 players and 1 club official that attacked him in the car park after the match. orchestrated and premeditated.

genuinely couldn’t see that happening after a gaa game

Probably sounded like whataboutery, that wasn’t my intention

The GAA is my passion, soccer is just a keen interest ( supporting Liverpool will do that to a man ), I was just pointing out that it’s certainly not confined to soccer

Bertie was referring to a real event that took place in Wicklow (it was a big scandal when it happened).

You’re not half wrong there Pixel. Not tarring all with the one brush but I worked in Edenderry, Prosperous and Clane and a lot of young men were prone to kicking off over nothing. I once looked on in amazement as I watched a fella in a pub pick a fight with himself in a large mirror. I thought he was joking but no and then the straw that broke the camel was when his friend came over to him pulled him away and said “leave him alone Johnny”. Funny but not.

Midlanders. Feral and untamable. Always burning stuff as well! Too much bog air I think. Tagging might be a necessary and viable option.
