I’m really not on board with any of those three being useful about improving the rental sector…. bet they haven’t rented in years

you don’t think a celebrity architect has the answer to spiralling rents and inadequate enforcement of regulations ?

      1. missred

Defo not the regulations bit anyway, sure the stuff he tacks onto houses is unidentifiable by name and purpose half the time. How would you even get an assessment for these side-roofs/ glass mezzanine floors/ upside down bedrooms he comes up with?

In fairness to Deeter, he talks a lot of sense about NIMBYism and the need to build.
But more importantly, “what can be done to help the rental sector”?

And I’m going throw this one out – entirely unsubstantiated, just a hunch:

might he also be a paid lobbyist for Airbnb? sounds like it

He’s a clown…shouty macshouty when he’s being ripped a new one on that Cooper Yates tripe…

the solution to the rental crisis is to conduct every single rental through the local authority. make it illegal for landlords to rent any property for any length of time outside of this structure and you could enforce real control on the rental market.

Why is an estate agent/all round bullsh*tter like Karl Deeter classed as some kind of expert on property in this country?

Last article I read from him he was on about those in council houses paying more to make things a bit equal for those paying through the nose. Says it all. He thinks those living in a poo hole in the likes of NoJobsTown should be paying market rents, and the money could be used to build & gouge others in other poo holes. Genius stuff.
