Further to the Morning Irelandcoverage gap

Green Party TD Eamon Ryan tweetz:

What a pity then that RTÉ is all at sea when it comes to covering climate change. With the exception of their correspondent and a few programme makers, they don’t seem to know how to inform the public on the issue. Can that change?

Climate change is not really ‘news’. It is an incredibly slow process with nothing discernibly different from one day to the next.

I’m reasonably well read on the topic but I haven’t learned anything from a ‘news’ story about the issue in the last 20 years.

A forest fire? So was the great fire of London also due to Climate Change?
This is not caused by climate change, it’s caused by those in charge of managing the forests not raking them often enough.

          2. ReproBertie

Same question to you ollie, you do know that the California wildfires aren’t in a forest and didn’t start in a forest?

          3. Nigel

I also wonder if ollie knows that raking forests to prevent fires isn’t actually a thing but I also also wonder how anyone could possibly think raking forests to prevent fires was a thing yet here we are.

So you can’t prove any climate catastrophe. The corals are not dying, the sea is not rising, the polar bears are not starving.

As for the California fires, it is well acknowledged that fires is a natural part of that habitat’s life cycle and the consequences of those fires have been exacerbated by human mis-management.

It is those humans who have mis-managed the forest habitat that now blame “Global Warming”.

Never trust a greenie – they lie all the time.

Perhaps if they covered the subject properly you might? As a subject it covers human responses in the fields of tech, science, agriculture and politics as well as the actual plsnetary mechanism behind climate change which is generally understood.

Greenies lie about CO2 as being somehow toxic to human life on earth. Yet the truth is that CO2 is essential to all life on earth. More CO2 = more food.

Greenies also ignore the influence of the sun’s varying cycles on the earth’s climate. They ignore the decade long temperature oscillations in the oceans. They ignore atmospheric physics and atmospheric chemistry and instead blame the innocent CO2 molecule for the state of the weather. (They also continually confuse weather and climate)

Greenies lie about Climate in order to pick your pocket. They have no facts, no truth only bad dogma that any child can easily dismiss.

Yet they will continue to signal their virtue and harangue anyone who dares to point out the truth of the facts – Climate is always changing, it’s what climate always does.

Greenies are liars and thieves. They infest popular discourse with lies, rob the public purse to subsidise their continuing “renewable energy” failure, refuse to admit they are wrong and when called on their lies they insult, demean and demonise their opposition.

          Never trust a greenie.

          Especially one on Broadsheet.

Remember the last time you went on about the benefits of C02 and you linked to a piece that not only said that climate change as a result of human generated C02 emissions was a real problem but that ant benefits to increased plant production would be severely limited? Remember that? I remember that. Or the time you tried to prove that summers were getting cooler by linking to a graph that showed a steady increase in summer temperatures since the 1970s? Ah, those scientists just can;t be trusted, can they?

Does Eamon Ryan want a real discussion about Climate Change? With facts and truth?

Or does he just want RTE to parrot the Green Party lies on the subject.

Bertie! She’s being bold again! It’s the heroin, I blame the heroin. The heroin and the nymphomania. And the boldness.

I’m not asking you to prove anything. You said Dan was lying when he spoke about species extinction so, are species not going extinct?

          What a relief.

A strudel isn’t right without a big dollop of custard on top. Actually, stick the kettle on, will you?

Pollution from diesel vehicles is stunting the growth of children’s lungs, leaving them damaged for life, a major study has found.
Eamon Ryan was Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources when tax breaks were passed by Government in 2008.
He has never regretted making this decision.
That’s why no one cares what Eamon has to say

Just a reminder, always useful when this comes up, that car company executives were put in jail for committing massive fraud in diesel emissions tests which lead to diesel-friendly environmental regs across Europe.

Eamon Ryan was never Minister for Finance, who controls VRT and excice policy, but never mind.

Diesel particulates kill tens of thousands of people around the world every year, possibly hundreds of thousands.

It’s debatable as to whether climate change will ever kill anybody.

I drive a petrol car and have a very clear conscience.

So the Green Party (who were in government with Ministers) during 2007 -2010) failed to get ANY mention of climate change onto the news or prime-time?

sounds like a complete failure of that Party to put the issue on the agenda rather than blame the media

Still no answer? Are species not going extinct? You were so adamant that Dan was lying it should be a simple answer.

Dan lies about climate change. Constantly. So do you.

Prove the positive before you ask me to prove the negative: prove that species are going extinct because of muh man-made climate change.

(The polar bear are fine btw.)

Make up your mind. One minute you say he’s lying about it, the next you want me to prove that they are going extinct due to man made climate change, a claim that wasn’t made in the article.

It’s really simple. Dan quoted a report that species were going extinct. You said he was lying. Are the species not going extinct then?

          2. CO2 Rocks

Dan is constantly lying about made made climate change begin caused by (CO2) emissions. He does so to push the Carbon Tax agenda.

You’re now claiming he didn’t claim the his made-up man-made climate change scam is making species go extinct. So if he he didn’t make that claim then why would I claim that his claim was false?

I think you’re making this whole this up Butina. You’re looking for spurious controversy for some reason: It’s your inner narcissist screaming for attention.

Time to return to Shillbase for your much needed de-brief. Or go outside for a while, the climate is lovely and stable right now.

          3. Nigel

The only person who can answer the question of why you would claim Dan is lying over a claim he never made is you, chum.

          4. ReproBertie

So when you said Dan was lying about species going extinct you hadn’t even read what he had posted?
