The Lad’s Dane Good

at

Last night.

Ceres Park, Copenhagen Aarhus., Denmark.

Michael Obafemi (above with mother Bola and brother Affy) made his senior international football debut last night when he was brought on as a substitute during the Republic of Ireland’s goalless draw with Denmark.

Mr Obafami, who was born in Dublin and plays for Southampton in the Premier League, was also eligible to represent England or Nigeria but committed to play for the Republic of Ireland earlier this month.

In fairness.

      At this stage, yes.
Irish football is at an all time low. Delaney seems more concerned with censoring flags and banners than correcting what is wrong.

Andrew has big issues with immigration, btw you never answered my question at the end of our last discussion, maybe you’d care to now ?
Are all your family Irish born, your colleagues, your friends? Is this why you have such a limited view of what an immigrant has to offer our society, economy, gene pool and culture ?
Have you no history of emigration in your family ? Have you ever lived outside of Ireland ?
Just trying to understand what makes you so bitter Andrew ?

not the aviva – that’s from Ceres Park, Copenhagen (the home of Aarhus Gymnastikforening)

and it’s the premier league, not the premiership

Is that Aarhus in the middle of Aarstreet ?

Mind you, so much of my fluffy pants are being dry-cleaned these days I have no doubt this innocent joke will make it past the long suffering, wonderful and scrupulously fair moderators.

Wait until I turn up at her door holding signs like Andrew Lincoln, see how appalled she is then.

Sometimes I think Brother Barnabas and Bertie would make the best couple on here.

            YOU GUYS!

would you be willing to wax your back?

[interestingly enough (to me), Our House was written by chas smash – real name cathal smyth, parents from drumcondra. he’s mad about hurling and used to spend his summers playing when back in dublin. also, like the rest of madness, he was a very good football player (arsenal fan) – and wanted to play for ireland. he had a longstanding bet with suggs, who wanted to play for scotland, about who’d get capped first. neither did. he lives in spain now]

            Nice one BB.

He’s a great friend (sleeps on his sofa kinda friend) of a friend of mine but, kinda like Johnny Marr, I’ve loved him for so long that I don’t ever wanna meet him.

    Ah well
Watching Ireland play at soccer reminds me of watching Morecambe FC in the 1960s
And when will people question the salaries paid out for the FAI

      Save Our Shrimps !
      I remember them well.
The chairman was a butcher who used to bring the pies to Christie Park on matchday still wearing his blood-stained apron.
