.@glamourmag will end its print issues in 2019 except for special occasions. EIC @samanthabarry tells us the reasoning behind this was so they can free the magazine from the monthly editorial cycle to tell more relevant stories and better reach readers on digital. #CheddarLIVE pic.twitter.com/6k3yzWiruf

This afternoon.
Cork-born Samantha Barry editor in chief of Glamour magazine explains why the title is discontinuing its print edition.
Only in the job less than a year.
Ruthless, like.

I.E. they’re losing loads of money.
They are just going to be putting up a lot of pics on Instagram. Back to profitability in no time.
Their website is just a lot of Markle and white space.
Who cares about glossy trivialities like Glamour magazine? Bring on the mags that deal the heavy dirt, like Phoenix, Private Eye. Or political-philosophical mags like New York Review of Books, Prospect, New Statesman, Spectator or Le Point, le Nouvel Obs or Der Spiegel. Other readers will ogle at True Detective, Ireland’s Own, Sacred Heart Messenger, The Beano or Viz. Chacun a son gout.
Lol… I still can’t believe that the RTE Guide is the best selling magazine in Ireland!!
Seriously, who under the age of 60 buys it, other than people connected to RTE
All RTE employees get it for free.
Bit like the indo.
Alive is free if you go to Mass. If you drink coffee in some cafes the Irish Independent and the Irish Times can be read free. The Jehovah Witnesses sometimes slip free leaflets through my letter box.
They used to send free editions of it to an office I once worked in.
I’m not sure I’d have called it riveting reading but they did do decent long reads from time to time.
OMG I just lioke live on GLAMOUR… and fresh air… and a pot noodle every other Wednesday.
