UK Prime Minister Theresa May in Downing Street last night

An Etonian’s dream of a coup
Failed, in the end, to come true
And Prime Minister May
Again starts her day
With no idea what she should do

except she’s the cause of the very position she’s battling with now @Clampers
made a ‘ballsy play’ & now scrambling hard to clean up her own mess
moxie, yes but desperate stuff as opposed to fair fupps imho

How is this her own mess?

She was a remainer before taking the top job. In fairness to her, she’s genuinely seems to be trying to do the best possible for the UK. Some of the hardcore brexiteers seemingly just want to see the world burn.

? @rotide she’s all over the gaff and god love the citizenry cos she’s completely detached from reality.

she’s saving her own skin, she doesn’t give a toss about what’s good or not for the general population, this is all Tory party nonsense.

in a major greedy poker play she called a General Election with resultant chaos

she’s a remainer but she’s not but she is but she’s not (another bullshitter politician bereft of vocation, honesty, personal conviction & investment) save it for Debate Soc. at uni time

I agree. She has been anything but consistent and is incapable of delegating. She’s desperate for a successful Brexit deal to seal her legacy – not for the future of Britian, because she knows she can walk away following March 29th. Her crisis-management style will trip her up eventually.

i think her hubris in thinking she’d win a large majority at the last election is the issue for most. she was always going to be vulnerable to internal party dissent especially as she had to rely on a C&S deal with the DUP. still, they can’t touch her now for 12 months. tories will have to vote for her EU deal now, or risk an election – well played mrs may.

Anything good in the House of Commons schedule next week?

    https://www.forexlive.com/news/!/uk-parliament-schedule-shows-no-brexit-deal-vote-before-christmas-20181213

Yes certainly, they’re finalising legislation to force porn sites to verify users are over 18, or to reduce the porn on their sites to less than a third of content!

What they’re definitely not doing next week in the House of Commons is discussing Brexit, and they won’t be back until the second week in January.

As bad as our lot of politicians are, I honestly think they would cancel the Christmas holidays if they were in the same mess as the UK.

Lazy sods. The Good Friday Agreement was not only a breakthrough in securing peace for the North, it also showed what can be achieved when politicians cancel their holidays and work through the hours with determination. Hey, some our best work was achieved by pulling an all-nighter.
