Saturday.

Dublin city centre.

Yellow vest-clad protesters march from Custom House Quay (top) to Government Buildings, stopping outside outside the KBC bank on Dame Street, in solidarity with hi-viz demonstrators Paris.

You want the same thuggery, garda-engagement and disquiet on our streets now? At a time when children are off school and enjoying the christmas lights? My poor French friends have been unable to leave their house at the weekends due to the violence on the streets.

in my experience, that’s a cynical excuse used by people too stingey to buy christmas presents

Did anyone go to this? From what was posted online beforehand it sounded like it was going to be a lot of anti-immigration, anti-“globalist”, anti-flouridation, climate cranks, and the lads above who look like “freemen-on-the-land” types. I was definitely getting a bit of a right-wing vibe off the whole thing. There was a lot of talk of beating up any “Marxists” that tried to join the march and in the same breath saying that it was a grassroots, apolitical movement for all the people of Ireland.

Loads of guff on their Facebook page about not wanting any violence at their protest. Don’t join an violent international protest movement then.

They should stop battering police cars with their selfie sticks, or at least take the phones off first.

well done yellow vests. Finally standing up to the political boo boos that have destroyed this country.

Roscommon was a turning point in finally taking back control of our country. Drain the swamp. They are coming for you all.

Drain the swamp? Ok trump. Ireland’s yellow vests are a bunch of right wing dangerous nationalists. Freemen and freeloaders.
