9.1c in Carlow with some blue skies visible in the distance as the frontal cloud clears East. Turning cooler with showers moving in from West. Lot of uncertainty on the weather charts for the weekend with some showing a risk of more rain Saturday night into Sunday.

spent a day in carlow once. never again.
Spent on and off four years there, most miserable shower of people on the planet. 38 chippers and not one book shop in the place.
There used to be a great record shop there called Soul Trader, which has now closed. Across from it was a delightful little Tobacconist named The Cigar Divan. Hopefully that still remains.
Apart from those, you’re on the money.
There was one nice restaurant, some Chilean guy I think, where you could eat snake and camel and all sorts of mad stuff.
The great seanchaí tradition will never die while you’re around, peachy-cheeks.
On a related note, that Eddie Lenihan gowl cursed us in Clare. We literally had to bury an egg to lift it.

Two of our lads died within a week of each other. One lived with me, the other was taking over his room after his death and was killed in the process of moving in.
