Aghriaeed. Ghia Ford models were the posh luxury versions of the standard car and an alternative to the sporty XR-3, XR-2, etc etc.

Obviously the paintshop had a deal on 1990 Dell PC beige. Lovely car all the same.

Beige was around long before 1990. So many Fords in that colour around 1980. Some with a ‘coffee and caramel’ across the side.

appears to be a nice example alright, never had the pleasure ’twas always volkswagens & opels in my house growing up (& one ‘oul Pug XRAD van that was the making of me :) )

owned & loved cars like these can actually make sense as a daily driver in the right circumstances..
    classic tax & insurance
plus, assuming condition, they don’t drink as much juice nor are as technically troublesome as urban myths might suggest

forget yer crippling PCP deal, likes of these are much more craic trust me!

Until the NCT crowd take the hump. Last year, some lad from Wexford, who owned a classic car belonging to David Bowie was on with Joe. A small bulb was gone on the dash belonging to something like the heater. They just wouldn’t pass it no matter. Took 4 grand to get the wooden dash replaced because it all had to be removed to get to it.

        mmm
dunno about the specifics of that story but my experience very different, I’ve had nothing but positive stuff to report.
every 2 years for me, soon to be exempt altogether!
there are allowances made depending on era etc. the car is only expected to meet what it was able to achieve originally.
honestly it’s easy to get a classic through NCT as long as you have the car in good order & you or your mechanic are competent, not to be feared.

My 1990 jetta mk2 turbo diesel has 500,000km on the clock, it has its original head gasket and sails through the nct.

This is it’s last tax year. From next year it’s €56 annual road tax.

      Agreed.

Ford Capri (2 ltr, V6) yer only man.

It’s more cream that beige, but great condition all the same.

It’s such a weird word when you look at it alone. Ghia. All the ghia, no idea.

I just used my mad google skillz: it’s the surname of a coachbuilder. Ford bought the company.
