I never thought of checking that! I think I have been to 9, maybe 10. Courtesy mostly of a visit to the Philippines a few years back, which has more islands than you can shake a stick at :)

I remember at school they hedged their bets and called it an island-continent. Good bit of fence sitting :)
There is a continent of Australia and the country of Australia which are not the same thing. The continent includes Papau New Guinea. Seems like a big island to me.
